Re: Heavy Rain

Were the additional DLC cancelled? The one that is available for Madison was supposed to be one of the few (one for each character if I remember well) that were supposed to be released in the coming months after the game release.

Yea, they instead focused on adding Playstation Move support to the main game, which it seems like Sony made them do. Pretty ridiculous.

The DLC is worth the $5.

Re: Heavy Rain

ok guys, BUMP, this game has been pretty interesting, but I just got to a part which tilted the **** out of me, so spoilers below:

I failed Ethan's second trial, the glass climb through thing, because I COULDN'T TURN CORNERS, WHAT THE ****

Anyway, is it worth continuing, is the more tilting **** like this to come? Choosing the hard setting didn't help but it didn't have any impact on that crap.

Re: Heavy Rain

A nice welcome return of this thread.

Yes, it's worth completing. failures will change the endings. Failing is part of the glorious tapestry of the game.

And I believe that the broken glass vents are by far the most tilting part in the game from what I recall. That was the worst bit by far.

Re: Heavy Rain

Yeah keep going. Megastar is right; that's the worst stretch.

Look up the right path online even for that part just to get through it.

...I wanted to be "perfect" through this game but learned to love the punishment.

Re: Heavy Rain

Yea, I finished the game and I'm glad I did. I actually only completed 2 of the trials, the car and pinky cutting ones, but I don't think it mattered at all because Madison gave Ethan the location. And like you guys said, nothing was anywhere near as tilting as the vents.

I read the haters article and I think most of it can be dismissed. You can suspend belief with things like saving yourself from an explosion in a fridge. It's a game. The only thing that stuck out while I was playing was Madison having never met Shelby in the game, then proceeding to act like she knew who he was.

Really fun game and a great idea. It had a few horror movies mixed into it as well. I'm surprised they apparently aren't going to do a sequel because there's a lot of room for improvement. They tried something new and did about as good as you can in a first try.

Re: Heavy Rain

Yes this is one of my favorite games. It's worth at least 2 playthroughs I'd say, and I would love a sequel as well.
However, this company is brilliant. They are the same that made Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy - it's about as good and original as Heavy Rain (more nightmare/horror perhaps) but might be a little bit outdated in graphics at this time (I'd just really recommend it if you love HR anyway).

What I mean is that, whatever they are making in the future will almost definitely be awesome, so it's OK - while they could make a bunch of sequels to this game very profitably - they have the "We want to do something new" attitude, so they're not making a franchise and milking it which is imo often a very good thing

Doesn't this game have an absurdly high completion rate compared to other games?
