Re: Gran Turismo 5

I'm almost done with A-spec with just the 9 hours at Toshiba, 24 hours at LeMans, 24 hours at Nurburgring, and the FGT championship. I can handle the endurance races when I have the time, but the FGT is really giving me problems.

I find that if I drive the FGT conservatively enough to get around without crashing I'm not fast enough to win and when I drive it fast enough to win I inevitably crash out of contention. What's the trick with this car? How fast should gear my transmission for this series?

yeah, without seasonal it's brutally hard to make any money, beyond belief how much they went the other way with this version of the game.

The FGT is much harder to drive than the F1 cars and the AI in that series is tougher than in any other. I can't remember a trick, it's kind of hard. you want to have a lot of room on the gears to give you that super top end speed those times when you're trying to catch up and you need the draft. The car has so much power that it really doesn't need 7 gears so give yourself somewhere around 300 on the top speed so you can actually go 260 - 270 when you have a long straight and a draft. you'll never miss it on the low end and in fact it should make it a little easier to keep from spinning the tires.

Also, on the f1 nurburgring course the AI wrecks at the same spot lap after lap so that's an easy victory.

I think on another race it was raining and they started with dry tires and all pitted so look to exploit that haywire stuff.

Sebastian Vettel won his second World Championship today! Get your free Redbull x2010 and try the new time trial at Suzaka, they're both only up in seasonal events for one week.

oh man, don't forget to run the time trial, all you have to do is get around the track without wrecking multiple times to get the gold and 5mil in credits.

Re: Gran Turismo 5

cockpit view is low budget, but a big improvement because you get the cockpit shake and the feeling of being inside the car. Now I can actually use my standard cars.

Wheredo I go to get the x2010? I've tried the time trial and it just keeps letting me do laps and doesn't stop ever

Re: Gran Turismo 5

that's weird, you should get the car just by going to your gifts and downloading it. The time trial is just for money.

I have no idea why it's just letting you do laps.

The FGT cockpit is almost as good as the F1 cars now, except that the gauges on the wheel don't work. Makes that car much better imo.

nevermind, i found the car in gifts. and i just had to exit out of the time trial for it to give me the credits. I still haven't gotten gold yet. Thats what i get for not playing this for 4 months and then trying to get the x2010 to handle at all going 250mph.
