Picked it up today, but goddammit... I want to finish Fallout 3. Which I shouldn't be playing because I should finish Fable 2 first.

There are just too many good games coming out right now...

Picked up today, really impressed, I am playing on a standard definition TV though, this game more than any other I've played, really, really, needs to be played on a HD TV to be able to fully appreciate it, can't wait to get home for Xmas and get back on my HDTV

Ugh, I'm kind of disappointed in this one. i mean its a good game and everything, but if you thought people used chainsaw before, wait til you play this one. the shotgun seems significantly weaker, or maybe i just suck. but i asked a few people and they all said the shotgun sucks now. ill shoot a guy 3-5 times point blank and ill still get ****ed up with a chainsaw. ASDFKJASDFPO

This game does have a few issues. I got killed a couple times because I got stuck and couldn't move on a certain part, don't wanna spoil anything.

co-op horde mode

My friend was cool enough to buy the game for me through Amazon. It was supposed to arrive today but when I checked the tracking information it says this:

"THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY"

Wtf? How did they miss it? Maybe it was hiding.

got it today. only have played a few hours of hardcore campaign (only part i think i had to reload was the escort to landsdown it took me a good 6 tries to realize to STAY on the turret when the flying thing comes up next to you, and another 3x after that to do it lol) other than that im honestly not impressed at all with the campaign. it is literally the same exact thing so far as the original. like no joke i cant even think of one difference off the top of my head. tbh though it just makes me that much more excited to play multiplayer and try out all the modes. i absolutely loved and was pretty sick at gow multiplayer and even though i havent played it yet i have a feeling this years is going to be much better. and ya horde mode sounds awesome.

i know too many people who beat it the first day they got it, so that makes me very dissapointed in the campaign.

I'm annoyed that games are basically just tossing in campaigns now and focusing on multiplayer because i'm not a big muliplayer fan.

However, Horde mode is fun so far.... though I can see how it would get tiresome especially once you get to a higher level that you'll have to repeat for hours on end.

the shotgun was flat out too strong in the first game and would single handedly ruin matches where the whole team switches to a shotgun and just rushes to the other end. That wasnt the goal epic wanted in the gameplay hence the addition of stopping power and a lancer that doesnt spray.

I would say the shotgun is a little less powerful but still quite useful and is still the weapon of choice in execution matches. I personally am glad they went in this direction.

Also realize that bullet lag was a big problem in the first one making the shotgun even more useful over the other weapons.

this is just the natural progression of shooters with a solid online component, multiplayer is either as important or even more important than single player. Its a shame you cant get into the multiplayer, the real fun is there in my opinion.

Also the horde mode is kind of the hybrid between single player and multi really, every time i played horde its a different experience against the AI and its far more intense than 95% of the single player. Once you hit about wave 10 its like fighting raam on insane difficulty

Same here, me and a few friends were playing the multi and the chainsaw straight pwns. I'm not very good at this type of game but my friend is and all he could say today is how the chainsaw is ridiculous in this version.

I was definitely expecting more from this game. They spent what, 2 years in development, just to add a small handful of differences and mostly the same guns as the original. Maybe I just expect too much.

As someone who is not good at these type of games, I will say that Horde is a lot of fun.

I never played the first one, so it's taking a while to get used to the game. Getting my first MP kill (and curbstomp!) was very satisfying.

I really like the detail in the lancer when fired... the barrel of the gun goes red and smokes after you are done shooting... there are a lot of small touches like this.. and yes the horde mode rocks! Oh and the bots for practice are good too...

I hate random idiots that leave after the first round of a multiplayer game.

I understand the progression, and don't fault the companies for doing it. It keeps games popular longer, it keeps their resale value higher for longer (look at Halo 3 and COD 4 for instance.).

I just don't have the time to devote to becoming good at it, so if/when I ever play the multiplayer modes I am usually the guy who dies the most and has the least amount of kills, thus ruining the fun for me completely.

I was the same way with Bond on the 64.

However, I can have fun with Horde mode because while it is still multi-player (and not campaign) it's co-op and everyone's on the same team.

Last night there were 4 of us playing and we got up to level 25 (maybe just 24, i was tired and it was hard to remember). After you beat level 20, they start adding bonus's to the enemies to make them harder.

Also, I just want to say that I HATE blood mounts.
Hate them with a passion.

blood mounts, tickers, pretty much any enemy in horde that uses speed is a huge pain in my butt.

My first chainsaw duel was lost tonight on level 27 horde mode with one enemy left, my team laughed at me, luckily i know where they live

why does multiplayer take forever to get going?
