Discussion in the other topic has once again sparked interest in me in these types of discussions, wondering what the average 2P2 gamer thinks are the 10 best games ever. Note that it's possible (and imo very standard) that this is different from your 10 favorite games ever. FFX would be in my top 10 favorite games ever but I would never list it as one of the best games ever, to give a personal example. I realise that not everyone will want to rank them, so listing them is fine too. Maybe interesting to list age too since there is obviously some age bias in lists like these: 22

+1 to HL2, that's the first one that came to mind. varied gameplay with great pacing, nice (physics) engine, non-awful story with likeable characters told without cutscenes.

Portal 1 is also very, very good for what it is. On my list for sure.

Finally, WoW probably cant not be on this list.

I loved Quake but I think playing (and beating!) it with my superold computer running the game at... less than 2 FPS... kinda ruined the experience for me.

Not even kidding. I basicly turned mouse sensitivity way down and found a way to aim using how many degrees the crosshairs would move based on the movement of the mouse. Now that I think of it that was a pretty awesome experience .

That same computer ran Starcraft super smoothly btw. Blizzard used to be really awesome at making games run on slow machines.

I think Doom deserves a spot more than Quake though. It's just really hard to like it when you're used to anything that is more modern and no nostalgia factor is present.

Probably not top 10 but definitely honorable mention IMO: Sim City 2k

Only game i would argue for being in a top 10 best (not favourite) listt is heroes of might and magic 3

1.) **** no, that's CS. Has the largest community of any game ever still standing. Even MW3 can't keep a crowd as long as CS 1.6 has. Starcraft maybe be beloved in Korea, but even it can't compete with CS.
2.) agreed.
3.) Maybe lower.
4.)ff6 was better, and featured a greater cast with a greater range of play (Sabin's moveset alone is awesome.), other considered the best final fantasy before going to complete ****, ff7 is too vastly overhyped to even make the list on any merit other then it's hype. The game's medicore, it's story basic and not really suprising, where with 6 YOU LOST HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME and had to go a completely different path. Hell, ff9 was funner.
5.)Agreed. The show makes me sad as a animation bluff.
6.) lol **** no, get GTA off this list. This spot belongs to Super Metroid for being generic badass with titties before generic badasses were even generic.
7.)Half life 1 > Half life 2. Deal with it
8.)Diablo, metal gear took years to take off with it's. Diablo took A game.
9.) Phoenix Wright, because you literally cannot argue with the smashing success of a game that made BEING A LAWYER fun.
10.) Megaman X: Arguable one of the best megaman, and the beginning of the end of Megaman is Capcom's flagship character.
