Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

Release DAte: 12-31-11 (pojected, I think its final)

You ****s posting in the SKyrim or whatever the hell is the latest WRPG out there prolly forgot about this one. I havent read too much into it since I dont want to be spoiled with anything.

What Ive heard

- Multipe Endings
- Pretty much same Battle system but touched up and added a new feature, that feature might be something to do with having enemies as pets. Can these pets be in your party? not sure

- Some random guy and Sarah are our protagonists
- Towns!!
- Developers said game is less linear and paths "branch out"

Story wise I heard it is pretty much a Direct Sequel and has something to do with lightning.

So I dont know a lot about it. I enjoyed 13 because even though it was tough as hell. it was still a FF. I dont knw a lot about this one because I wont be able to play until summer and I dont want anything spoiled. IF ANYONE HAS MORE INFO AND WANTS TO CORRECT ME . please do so.

JRPGS > WRPGS

forever and always

Things im pissed about?

Multiple endings and if we can capture enemies. I wont give a **** about that. sounds gay.

Developers said they listened to complaints about FFXIII while they were working on this project

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

Thought this was a joke but then I googled it real quick..

I never actually finished 13, is it any good? Roughly the farthest I got was

*FF13 spoilers below*
Spoiler:

Is the rest of the game worth playing or should I not bother?

I will probably end up getting 13-2 just because I'm a sucker for FF. Even though the only ones I've ever followed through with and beaten at least once are 7 and 10.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

Just beat FFXIII and be done with it.

WHat was really surprising was that couple months after SE released the game they made a statement(in an interview) and for the first time, they responded back to their critics explaining why they made the choices they did. I was shocked SE would come out and admit some faults.

I do remember that but I don't know what chapter that's in. I finished the game up in 40 hours w/o doing side quests. if you can give me the chapter, I can prolly estimate time frame.

If you weren't really interested in the Story past chapter 8-9. the game doesn't really take a huge turn storywise.

as I said though. 13-2 was supposed to be a direct sequel. a **** ton more so than X-2

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

No idea what chapter it was or anything, it's been at least a year since I've played it at all. I would probably start over if I were to play it again. If it's only about 40 hours I could knock it out real quick, I had a hard time playing it for more than about 2 hours at a time though without falling asleep. But that happens to me with just about any game.

Also, just doing a quick search, it looks like the release date is January 31st (for North America).

Square Enix are one company after they merged some years ago. They also bought Eidos at some point a few years ago.

I've never played FF13, but as a fan of the series I feel like I need to get a PS3 and give it a run.

It was the first game I bought after a good 5-6yr away from video games and I was lost. I've actually been considering rebuying it again and giving it another go.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

will be getting on release like every ff since 8 although its the first time im not super excited about it. I loved the story of 13, but the combat system was by far the worst of the series. If the game doesnt want me there during combat, just tell me to leave, dont do all the work itself then pretend i helped

I, for one, really enjoyed 13. Definitly looking forward to this.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

meant to type ja 31st instead of DEC.

Just skimmed IGNS preview. Enemies can fight in your party and also I guess time travel plays a point in the story. I hope it still fairly linear though. like they hold your hand in the time travel. I would hate to have a choice between different story "zones" and whatnot.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Topic

i was one of the few that liked 13

but i won't be buying the game til it's $20

given the criticism and pre-order price drop i wouldn't expect it to take that long
