Quincy Promes seems to be the best player in the game for me. Completely outshined Ronaldo in 4 FUT draft games for me, and has been just as good in a starter Dutch team I set up. Van Persie seems both too slow and weak to make any kind of impact, at least in a 4-3-3 setup.

did a bunch of skill games tonight and it helps to get a feel for the little nuances that differ from 16 to 15. mainly the dribbling and passing. not positive but i think the passing is set to semi or even manual sometimes in the skill games, unless i changed an option by mistake or something. it seems to help a lot going from those to actual game play as more passes and shots get completed/go in than in the skill games.

will have to check out promes. i never play with the cheap gold 'no name' players but clearly coin buying is pretty hard and expensive this year so the cheap good teams are gonna be op.

Glad speed is now not the 100% main stat, I can play a big **** off enforcer midfielder to win heads, break ankles and pass the ball to the kids to do the skills :P

Agreed on the speed nerf but if I have a player with elite pace shouldn't they be able to blow by slower defenders? I've had Messi on the wing vs scrubs and he can barely get past them.

Calhanaglu is quite fun to play with, great shot and 2 footed. Shame his passing isn't that good, nor his dribbling. Yet to score a FK with him, can't figure out how to score them this year. I hold LB and press B for driven FK and the ball just flies straight up

for fk's - seems like half the power that used to be required to score is now how it works? feels like i'm tapping B and holding up to get it over the wall

yea I think in general about 1/2 to a full bar less than last year but there's a lot more variance between different players. i've banged a few with di Natalie but can't get close with Eremenko

Freekicks seem really easy under 25 yards, just hold up on analogue and shoot between 30-45% power and score, Aiming at side gk is not at.

Only taken like 3 but scored first two and hit post third, reminds me of how they were fifa 13/14(not sure which one) when I scored tons.

Won a draft got 2x premium player pack (3 rare) and 2 premium packs

Also seems ridiculously easy to win/concede penalties.

Overall really like the game so far but haven't played enough to judge properly yet.

Really hate the game so far. Played the PES demo and loved it. Really don't feel like learning all new skill combos though. Probably just sitting out until they patch this game a few times.

Yeah skill moves are way different, been struggling to implement them. Overall game feels way harder but maybe I just need to adjust my play style.

seatopen I think you're running really well on FKs (or just v good). last year it was a race between shooting and sprinting to the post for a free goal, and so far it seems much harder to control power this year.

Are the prizes the same for offline and online FUT drafts? If so, offline value has to be much higher, no?

After being matched with Mexicans with garbage Internet connections and DCing twice after the whistle tonight, I have to agree.

The game just feels like a chore to play online right now. It's not fun to have back-to-back-to-back-to-back interceptions (ad nauseum) over and over in the midfield because the defensive AI moves while the offensive player stands still and watches.

Nerfing pace is fine in theory, but if Memphis gets caught from behind every time he has two steps on his defender, then I guess I'm just a pace whore wondering why he was worth £25 million to Man U.

skill moves that seem to work really well this year are the fake shot obv and the new mcgeady spin (bolasie i think with the flick up at end) where you just hold rb while doing the mcgeady spin. also just using the face up dribbling with the exit sprint (let go of lt/lb) seems effective. got some of these from a solid youtuber as well. there's some good dribbling/tips & tricks vids up now.

Probably this, although gave away two freekicks vs someone with Ronaldo in draft last night and he pinged the bar with one from close and another from about 35-40 yards GK just watched it, definitely need to learn how to take them from further out.

Ran really well in that draft and went 4-0, got two all rare premium packs and a premium pack so 27 rares in total. No one special but easily worth the 15k / 300 fp to enter and much better value than packs.

Like the idea of Draft as get to try out plenty of players and formations, used 4-1-4-1 and its pretty good, very solid defensively. Best player so far is Ronaldo LDO and messi seemed v average in comparison.

Only worry is Chemistry doesn't seem that important? or possibly just if you change mid match, I didn't get anyone that resembled a decent striker in draft but Neymar & Ronaldo so put Ronaldo up top and he was still immense so started trying with other people oop or low chem and they also seemed fine.

I got TOTW Ronaldo in FUT draft and he couldn't get past a 65 RB.
