Am I just blind/dumb or is there no "reset to default settings" for controller settings (pass aid etc.)
I played around with it, put everything on manual but don't remember what the defaults were

So uh can anyone tell me what the defaults are (or say what settings pro gaming leagues use or something)?

360 club has been lacking me lately

It was fun playing with you guys last night, despite our poor results.

I think our formation choice is fine, but whichever formation we play we should try and actually make proper runs like real pros would if they were playing that formation, and keep the general shape of the formation, especially defensively.

We often look to charge forward and need to be way more patient with the ball. We should play through our pivot players (holding midfielders), (in the 4-3-3 (4) that we were mostly playing last night, the pivot players would be the two deeper center-mids). We also should try to get our outside backs involved in our attack to create a numerical advantage going forward. One easy way to do this is to pass to one of the holding midfielders, who can hit an outside back running forward, and we can start a decent attack from there. Too often its just get ball from defense, pass to forward, CHARGE!

We definitely had some good moments but overall I feel we'd benefit from more patient build up play.

I know we had some players on last night who hadn't played much FIFA in the past. I'm wondering if some of you might have the camera in "Pro mode" or whatever the default is for virtual pro. I find it way more difficult to play from this camera angle. I have mine all the way zoomed out in "co-op" so that it is easier to see the entire field. If you are playing in pro camera mode I'd suggest giving co-op a try.

Just my two cents. Let's not get discouraged with the losses, we just need to play together more and communicate more effectively while playing. Club is fun though! It's a good change-up for me from the grind of h2h seasons.

Let's talk skill moves. Anyone use them regularly? Most effective skill moves to pull off regularly?

Best move for when 1v1 with keeper? This is something in particular I don't do much of but think has huge value if you can pull it off with the keeper running at you.

I swear to god whatever part of my brain is the computer playing bit has completely disintegrated into a mush over the last 48hrs i've literally forgotten how to win at FIFA12 from being 2wins from Div1 to losing about 35 of the last 40matches. Like completely and utterly it has banished from my brain how to pass the ball, how to beat players, how to tackle. No matter what formation or tactics i use the games go in the same pattern:

My passes get intercepted in midfield resulting in attackers running at my defence and certain goals. Whenever i clear the ball it is straight to their advancing midfielders to run on my goal. Whenever an opponent clears the ball it is to one of their attacking players to run on my goal. Whenever i get a run at the oppositions defence there are no options apart from pass sideways. Whenever i'm clear of their defence a defender gets back and wrestles my guy off the ball so i can't even get a shot. Whenever opponents are clear they are in oceans of space.

I've tried an infinite amount of tactics and it's just the same thing over and over it's obviously me i'm ****ing terrible now.

I haven't snapped the game in 2, yet, but i can only play it if i win so something has to give.

1 vs 1 i just flick the ball ahead of me to a side then pass into the net, work 90% of time. Every time i try and skill move against keeper i just get flattened.

THIS. And if you're not travelling at pace/ keeper isn't charging out then hold L2 and flick the ball whichever way you want to go while holding the direction in the same direction and he'll roll the ball one or two steps in that direction - usually keeper/defender will be pretty close by then so you gotta shoot pretty quick after you move.

Right stick, flick it

Also good for first touch as well to bring the ball under control.

There was a nice move when 1-1 with the keeper posted in the fifa 11 thread, the striker pulled the ball back and then forward and the keeper takes the player out and obv gets sent off and you get the penalty. No idea how he manages to time it though

So easy to beat the keeper with just a flick of the right stick its not even funny. Even easier than the L2 + Square scoop finish from FIFA 10.

Yea but its so satisfying to do the real Ronaldo steppovers and leave the keeper chewing grass.

to be fair i was referring to more the later stages like march onwards, where i started buying lots. Before that i only bought packs.

Do any of you ever have any use for chip shots? Ever since being insanely overpowered in 10 (?), I'm not sure if I've ever scored a chip goal that wasn't by accident.

tbh I just never try them. I was desperate in a semi the other day and defender was making it so I couldnt cut back so I tried it and it went in. I should try it more often.
