anyone make it to div1? i just started my 2nd go-around in div2(2pts from 2 g's). definitely finding it harder to create clear chances. have been faced with a ridic proportion of laggy opposition since getting to d2 though, sooo tilting.

so gave it a rest and started career/manager mode which seems to be pretty improved from previous years.


wrt the formation talk- the 3-4-3(2) (or 3-1-2-1-3) is pretty much the ideal formation to use vs 4-1-2-1-2/4-3-1-2. but it can be kinda exploitable when used vs formations which have width/speed on the flanks, especially since that plays right into the hands of the droolers who just mash sprint & cross buttons all game. should never be using 3/5 in the back vs 1/3-man fronts for obv reasons.

4-2-3-1/4-3-3 are imo the "best" formations as far as having a balanced team(truth irl as well). 4-1-2-1-2 can also work well vs ppl who arent that good(especially at defending). i always prefer at least one of the wide MFs to be a runner/engine(a ramires/milner type as opposed to mata/silva for example)

yeah 41212 works well vs people that you can dribble, but two strikers will get you punished by good defenders.

as far as laggy games go, just quit before min5

im the opposite, I dominate possession in pretty much every game(55-65%) but my opponents park the bus completely and try to get me on the counter
Im good at reading the game tho and most counters get nowhere -> low-scoring games

I'm prob way worse than most people itt but just wanted to thank whoever recommended 5-2-1-2 earlier in this thread. I've been crushing with it recently at d5-6 after being pretty much stagnant for 3-4 seasons earlier. AC Milan Abate-Mexes-Silva-Nesta-Van Bommel Boateng-Aquaman Pato Robinho-Ibra (though I'd love to find a way to work Cassano in there, not sure there's room). Having a lot of people behind the ball seems to be awesome in this game, plus the 5 across the back seems to prevent some of the most common strategies I've seen (working it side to side quickly, through balls towards corner flag.) The formation seems to set up the lethal counterattack nicely as well.

oh and i just need to bitch about this - why in the ****ing hell is there no way to preserve lineups even game to game within a session? should clearly, at a minimum, save the last lineup you used online for a given team

I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST WIN IN H2H SEASONS. after only 6 tries . It was against probably the worst person I have ever played against. I was Bayern, he was Man U. I only won 3-1 and hit the post about twice as many times as I scored.

Arjen Robben is soooooo sick, I really like Bayern overall for H2H as well

I recommended Bayern about 4 pages back ITT. 4222 with them is so sick. Robben and Ribery with Lahm and Rafinha overlapping and Gomez might be slow as **** but he misses nothing inside the area.

I need some advice...

Ok so Bundesliga lacks a single decent LB. So adding in Maicon, Lucio and Sniejder allows me to link the 3 together as well as link Robben and Sneijder. Then use Lahm as LB.
Drawbacks are its a very expensive team as well as having 3 players OOP. Also no way to fit in Ozil or Muller.

Or go cheap and stick to Bundesliga with this team.

Problems I have here are that Rafinha cant hit full chemistry at RB, I can play Lahm RB and he hits full chem but Im a bit OCD and I dont like Rafinha at LB when I know Lahm is far more suited.
Also, its inevitable that I eventually buy Robben and Ribery even though right now they are out of reach(Robben is anyway) Then what will I do with Muller and moreso Ozil?

i use 5-3-2 everyone hates me. rw c c c lw cdm cdm c am st st camper version of fifa

5 in the back works against ppl who dont try and build their attack patiently from the back/mf and keep the ball. opposing fullbacks become totally unmarked(in a 5-x-2) and can push up and always be available for a pass. also it can be hard to break out of defense if the other team presses well(due to lack of outlets), so u end up having to absorb pressure for most of the match ime

3/5 in the back really shouldnt be used vs 1 or 3 man fronts. u end up having 3v3(bad for obv reasons) or 5v3/3v1(inefficient/leaves u shorthanded elsewhere, namely in MF). yea it can/will still work(especially vs weaker opp's) but its not the optimal way to set ur team up. against 2 man fronts it is absolutely more optimal and should be used every time.

if ur in need of a draw or to see a game out 5-x-x can work well if u are good at defending. otherwise it leaves u a bit too thin everywhere besides the back line and invites pressure imo

so 99% of the people just park the bus and play high trough balls to ronaldo now? ZzzZZZZ
handling the defensive side isnt much of a problem but scoring with arsenal against a parked real bus is very very difficult

Let in 1 goal in 12 games as a goalkeeper which was a ****ing penalty, I am starting to think it is optimal to play with a GK 2 strikers a CDM a + one Other midfielder and you just crush think my overall record today was 14-6-3 One of our losses was to the Number 1 team in Eastern Europe who beat us 1-0 by playing 5-4-1 and parking 8 men back... Got 47/50 GK challenges

my 5-3-2 is a custom formation, so its not exactly parking the bus. Its close to a 3-5-2 honestly. The wing backs are a huge part of my offense. I just find I give up most of my goals straight up the middle, so I figured having 3 CB crammed into 10 feet, with two CDM about 5 feet in front of that works. It really clogs up the inside effectively.

I can pass pretty well, and move effectively, i am used to playing the CPU on legendary, so multiple short passes are great.


After losing my first 2 H2H games 1-0, I played some bad kids. I am now 2 - 2 - 2 and need just 4 points in 4 games to move up to group 9. I feel I can make a few more jumps into league 6-7, then it will toughen up.


so my strategy crushes bad kids who overattack, and is effective against 3 defense teams since my LWB is wide open down the side all day. It's all effective against players who are better than me, since it takes them a lot to get a good shot, since I can play decent zone defense.

I really like the H2H seasons so far, and actually made my first kid quit at halftime up 4-0.

like 30 games in and i've played RM maybe twice. beyond that no one i've played has been using lobbed through balls anywhere close to abusively. definitely was much worse in past fifa's.

Got on PS3 yesterday and this guy had sent me the obligatory loser mail for quitting him. Except I had already sent him a mail during the game to ask if he was lagging. I could see some of the things he was doing in the match and felt there was no way he would be able to do those if his game was as laggy as mine. He said "no f**king lag here you lying peice of sh*t loser suck a c**k"

for the lol hate mai, but wtf, he has perfect connection and Im laggy like a b*tch?

Anyone got a suggestion for a RB or LB in Bundesliga? I dont mind having a RM or LM drop in there as long as its more of a defensive minded midfielder, ie not Marin. For example drop say Khedira to RB(only you dont get any chem for that but if I drop a RM to RB I get the dark green position light)

EDIT, I know Khedira not in Bundesliga but hes German so it works.

i went 4 wins and 2 draws after that to get promoted to division 9. Guy I played sent me a message saying I'm a dickbag.

I guess he doesn't like giving up a goal from a corner in the 8th minute and playing against 8 defenders all game. He did get 2 shots though, gg

1-0-0 in division 9. I think D9 will be no problem, I'm wondering when I start to get butt raped though.
