Have you finished the campaign, gauntlet, free forge, and free draft?

I don't remember exactly how much I had to start, but I was burning through it kinda quickly to craft Fire/Justice cards for Rakano Aggro.

I may be mistaken, but I thought after the campaign was finished you got a gauntlet, then a forge, then a draft all for free. After all of those rewards + the gold being spent on packs + disenchanting the cards, I believe you should have close to that. However it's been a little bit so I may be off :\

I have like 4k dust after doing all that plus another draft and several gauntlet/forge runs. were you disenchanting a lot of things too?

There was no free draft either, only a forge. gauntlet is always free so not sure what you mean

I forgot about the gauntlet actually

nevermind

Ah, my mistake then. I was trying to keep it around 10k dust. I'll try and bop it down for the next one to around 5k.

Edit: Ben, let me know what your shiftstone sits at when you finish all the free things please so I have a better idea.

I made most of the deck, leaving out three or four cards I didn't have yet. It's working well

Now that i think about it, I don't think it's a "free" forge/draft, but you get a quest to do them that rewards chests?

I drafted any legendary/premium rare on sight for collection/disenchanting, but low rank people are pretty weak if you ever played magic draft/hearthstone arena.

Can anyone give a quick rundown on how the monetization works in this game? Willing to spend a few bucks if it's good but don't want to get into it and then be dropping money to keep up the Jones's.

You buy gems, which are used in place of gold to buy packs/draft entries.

100 gems = $1 = 1 pack = 1000 gold (roughly).

Earning gold without spending money is pretty easy. The entry quests give you quite a few packs and maybe 10,000 gold or so. There's also a daily quest that gives 400-500g, and sometimes a pack. Each multiplayer win averages 150g I think.

You should really just try it- it's one of the best monetization systems I've played, and I've tried quite a few "F2P" games.

The best F2P path to take is to grind Gauntlet/Forge until you reach Master in each.

With each increase in rank the AI gets progressively harder in both Gauntlet and Forge. Once you reach Master in those and assuming a 50% winrate in PVP, PVP is the more viable strategy as the rewards outweigh those you'd normally earn against the harder AI.

This also makes sense as you'll acquire more shiftstones and gold while doing the AI modes and then have an easier time creating a PVP viable deck.

Sandstorm titan is 100% the best unit in the game, arguably the best overall card as well. The stat efficiency is just disgusting.

Draft is the most efficient use of gems by a lot after you get master in arena and don't get the level up bonus. If you're remotely decent you should have enough shifts time to make a pretty good constructed deck after about 35 spent on gems.

The ftp model is extremely generous compared to other games.

I finished the campaign and did my free forge run, 6 wins and a really disappointing 2 losses on the 7th where i was very close. Got a legendary in the draft.

no idea what to do now really

is it only 1 free forge run? Or do you get more along the way?

Did my first draft, made the ****tiest 4 color deck just emphasizing flyers, weapons, and hard removal

went 6 wins quite easily and stalled on the 7th. Rewards were 4 packs and about 8k gold. Holy ****. This game's WAY too generous. I assume it will be harder now because I ranked up?

I opened 3 legendaries - Sandstorm Titan, Jarrall Iceheart, and Lavablood goliath. All look quite decent but I doubt I have anything even close to a deck to play any of them in.

Yes, the game is very generous. But keep in mind constructed decks often need 4x one or more legendaries. So imagine needing 4x Reno, 4x Kazakus, etc.

Just finished all the free stuff and my first draft. Ended up with 2800 shiftstone.

Got 3 legendaries: Deepforged Plate, Bandit Queen, and a premium Scraptank.

Oh wow. Didn't realize 4x legendaries were a thing.

Still unless the draft player pool gets tough really quickly I think I can build a collection pretty cheaply doing this

got rimescale draconus, augmented form, and starsteel daisho from my free packs/forge, as well as 8k gold.

should i be happy about these?

I'd be interested to see what your 4 color deck looked like. Usually want to do 2 colors + maybe a splash, 4 is just asking to get color screwed.

Today's deck is a Fire/Time deck that I took from the start of the ladder (Bronze 3) up to Silver 1 pretty quickly. It contains 11 rares, 4 uncommons, and 35 commons which ends up being 10,950 shiftstone (dust). You get 100 shiftstone for opening a pack and can disenchant cards for it as well. You should be close to completing it after completing all the tutorials/gauntlet/forge that give you free rewards.

With a lot of the decks at the lower levels revolving around building a giant minion with weapons or playing a lot of removal, the deck allows you to either just go wide around the one giant minion or cause opponents to be spending multiple mana to kill your 1 mana creatures after they already made a minor impact on the game. Many games involve hitting for early damage, teleporting their blocker, and then finishing them off with multiple charge minions or a team wide buff to attacks.

The deck is also very fast, which should enable you to rack up rewards quickly so you can start making decks that are more expensive.
thanks for this! looking forward to trying it out, though it appears i'm lacking quite a few cards, despite having gotten most of my free rewards. what should i do? play forge and try to draft the cards from the decklist? also having quite a bit of trouble even creating the deck (can't find the sigils as an available card). mind giving a quick breakdown of how to go about creating your first deck as a new player?

thx
