Meh just whipped together a Rakano plate/armory deck and it's doing me pretty good so far - outside of Burn and token decks, meta is kind of slow and I seem to be taking advantage of that, bumped my rank ~100 places or so after steadily dropping since making master.

I started at rank 13 in masters

My theory is that the game places too much emphasis on relatively weak opponents that you face before settling on your "level".

Saw that, hopefully another site takes over posting ETS Tournament results/decks.

Also ETA of mid June for set 2. Ready to spend some $$ if need be, lord knows they've earned it from me. In fact Eternal has probably saved me money since I haven't really touched my consoles or felt compelled to buy new games on Steam.

I still don't understand draft I guess, just had what I thought was an absolute beast Rakano deck and won 1 game. Three torches, combat tricks, removal, good weapons, theee rebel sharpshooters...and people had a counter every single time.

I just killed a Magus of the mist that had not been silenced the dragon did not die.
I checked the void an everything. Thought I missed something. But I didn't. Super weird.

IMO the draft has changed in a month. I think you got to be either super aggressive or be ready to deal with that aggressiveness. I'm not sure if for example Pillar of Amar (7 mana 5/5 that churns out more 5/5's) is playable at all whereas Refresh (2 mana give 4 health to you or a creature) is great one-of. If you're not aggressive you need to have defensive against fliers also.

Ok, Pillar of Amar is still playable but you really need answers or to be ridiculously aggressive.

Yeah I think you're probably right - I've been doing alright lately but I've had a couple that I though were 6-7 wins for sure and instead topped out at 3-4.

Getting the impression (based on posting) that people are a little burnt out on Eternal? Hoping that set 2 reinvigorates interest, Im still enjoying it despite running out of new decks to try - metagame is still highly varied and seeing different concepts still.

Damnit just lost a draft game after being up 46-4, guy managed to make perfect pulls, prevent me from getting my argenport ringmaster through, pull a damn scrap tank and have it live long enough to win. This is one of those times that if there were a chat window I'd be screaming obscenities.

Definitely, game is still my go-to game when I'm on the couch with my tablet, but it's starting to feel stale. Mostly just doing my daily quests and drafting when I have the gold.

Hoping for an official announcement of Set 2 this month.

A tournament mode of some sort would be pretty welcome too.

Same. End of the month tends to be more tryhard as well, and it gets kind of boring running into stonescar burn and big combrei every game.

Yeah, I still play a lot since I have it on my tablet and can play it anywhere but constructed has gotten a bit tiresome. Thing is I still love firing it up and playing a few games vs finding time to play something else on console. Have started the season experimenting with new decks to freshen things up a bit, seems like I can play my way into Master later on. Drafting is still awesome but I've struggled lately, can't seem to find the right balance of aggression and power.

Well, they've got full release and hopefully a universal iOS version coming, likely before set 2, so I'm hoping that will goose the player base. Truedawn said on his stream yesterday that he agrees it's getting stale but also that this game has gotten a ton of replay from one set. I've been playing more Gauntlet lately since I'm tired of constructed to an extent but draft is still fun, if not frustrating, every time.

My most successful drafts lately have been ones where I just take good cards from three colors and play something of an even mix, rather than settling into 2 colors and being forced to play some weaker cards if later picks don't go my way. Not sure if it's just SSS or if people have wizened up to particular 2-color strategies, though I'm still getting passed turn 8 feeding times. Last one went RGW, mostly clogged things up with defensive flyers and used red for combat tricks and to drop the General. Had a hero of the people and lots of cards with words on them but only got good use out of her in one game.

RGW is actually probably my favorite color combo. It's relatively easy to do since Amber Acolyte fixes for other colors. Couple of Seek Powers doesn't hurt either or even Find the Way.

Every time I felt like durdling around with a worse deck I got matched up with you. The RGB / RPB control decks crush all of my joke piles. Next time I'm just going to click big combrei and dance on your corpse.

People still playing a pretty nice variety of decks, probably because it's the start of the new season. Seriously though if you're killing me and have three cards in hand, maybe don't take forever to make your play? Not sure what the hold up is
