Finally made it to Masters last night. Clicked pretty well once I finished building and playing Big Combrei. Really good at shutting down the aggro stuff with ambush, silences, big dudes, unless you totally whiff the opening draw. The end game draw engine & unit pumping is so much fun.

I'm looking forward to being able to play some meme decks / brews / etc now that, that is done.

I've brewed a few new decks but armory/war cry still seems to be my best one - made some modifications to one and ripped off a bunch of wins in a row last night. Also made a Kalis deck, sometimes seems super OP but did seem to hitch more than I expected

kalis deck kinda just needs to hit a little of everything that's in it. early dudes, sacrifice spells, and obv the weapons, and if it does the winrate is crazy. weak against yellow decks that go wide

I'm silver in draft but just running into the 4th straight blue (diamond?) guy. I thought the color symbols were to match ranks or did I not understand it?

The ranks you see for other players are the ranks they achieved last season (month). Not their current rank.

Nice to run into some unusual decks instead of the same archetypes - someone had a neat fevered scout/token/unstable form build that I want to try out.

Finally in the top 1k. Was stuck in diamond for way too long.

I played rakano aggro. Seemed like the cheapest competitive deck.
I think combrei midrange and armory are very strong at the moment.

Armory seems to work the most consistently for me. Combrei deck can be a beast but I don't have the firepower to build it and it also doesn't strike me as all that much fun to play.

i like that there seem to be several different ways to build the top decks. armory has a lot of flex cards in it depending on the meta. recently added a deep-forged for surprise lethal against permafrost shenanigans

I have a more aggro Rakano armory build and another one with shadow so I have access to smugglers stash. That one had sort of stalled out so I tweaked it with more removal, x4 armorsmith, removed a few cheap war cry units...so far been a beast and I bet pretty frustrating to play against. Probably needs a couple more Rakano artisans and/or rise to the challenge but I'm being cheap with shiftstone atm.

I blew like 40k shiftstone on big combrei, which ended up tipping me into master earlier in the month. As the game gets later, it's pretty damn fun drawing a bunch of cards a turn and churning out random units. Clockroach deck with a bunch of crowns is still the most entertaining though.

Finally got master in draft tonight. I feel decent at the actual drafting process, but am still definitely getting held back by constant misplays. It's always good for a laugh to go back and watch a known streamer's vod as they play me and marvel at all the dumb **** I do.

I really hope they don't just reset the collections.

I really do need to watch some draft streams to see what I'm doing wrong but whenever I have free time I'd just rather play than learn about playing...I also hate watching videos and would much rather read an article but for draft, videos make sense. Which ones have you been watching?

Anyone else interested in ETS tournaments for next season? Doubt I'll be competitive but it just sounds fun.

ETS would be fun to join but playing a tournament every Saturday just isn't something I could entertain.

Articles vs Videos. I can totally relate there. I can read through an article or two on breaks at work, but I can't exactly pull up a draft video and sit there watching it for an hour. Once I get home I would much rather play the game.

Nothing really compares to what you'll pick up watching videos/streams though. The thought process of a person picking cards on a draft video and playing their games just isn't something that can easily be put down on paper it seems.

I don't ****ing get the damn drafts. I get murdered in them. I am stuck in gold. In constructed I am closing in on the top 500. But I just can't figure out how to draft right.

I don't get how to get out of Gold league in Draft. I think you need a pretty high win % or something?? I am stuck there as well, 2nd season.

I lose as much points for a loss as I get for 2 wins. I don't track my drafts but I think I must be running around 65% winrate and just endlessly hover around the top 2/3's of gold rank.
