Alright lads its time for what appears to be some space-based minecrafty goodness. I bought this for £15 on steam cos all the reviews are raving about how this is what no man's sky was supposed to be. Game is still in development, rough edges and bugs are expected.

I am diving in head first without regard for health & safety protocol. Join me as I practice high stakes galaxy survival with settings turned down to rock bottom due to my computer being a load of bollocks.

i started in an out of control space pod. crash landed near some sort of stagnant green liquid. pod rolled into the liquid and disappeared (not sure that was supposed to happen..) but not before i recovered some items: drinkable water, oxygen, plans for a motorbike, StomachPills(tm) and of course most importantly, heaps of magnesium powder.

i dont appear to have packed a guide to space plants, or a space radio with which to phone home. presumably i was too busy making 100% sure i had packed 50 portions of magnesium powder to bother with any of that nonsense

so i spotted about 5 unidentified small-ish creatures milling around and decided to sort out a whole weeks worth of lunch. they looked a bit like kwama foragers out of morrowind.

got me gun out and started shooting, but ran out of bullets and didnt know how to reload. hit escape to look up the reload button but this game for some reason doesn't pause when u do that. so, thinking quickly, i got my chainsaw out and started cutting them bastards down, they got me down to about 20% life but i killed them all. success! or was it

turns out one or more of the little blighters bit me and now i'm poisoned. tried the StomachPills(tm), they did nothing. tried using my emergency medikit, which boosted my life a bit but didnt sort the poison. so my life continued to tick away. tried eating my magnesium powder, that didnt work either. i think i needed some sort of special poison antidote which, like a lot of stuff, i forgot to pack

tomorrow i shall return armed with this knowledge

if there's one thing you dont do its disrupt an englishman picking his morning space oranges so i taught him a lesson. looks like some useful junk on the corpse of this thing

ok forget it whoever owned that rocket bot lives over there and is pissed off. sent a minigun bot after me and i think started launching rockets from their base. too panicked to get a screenshot but got away on me motorbike.

these lads too strong for me at the moment but just wait till i figure out how to craft a space orange launcher

building system is weird and not intuitive imo, but i did manage to build a factory without referring to a help guide



i will now attempt to build a fridge so my space oranges dont go off and a spaceship so i cant get off this ****ty desert planet (game provides blueprints for ready made ships, f that im building my own or bust)

now i need some copper to get started on my first ship but the only copper i've found is next to a base full of wankers and i'll very likely die if i go over there. might have to search for another source of copper

ok i got about 2 hours tonight and i am going to build something which gets off the ground. no distractions, no space orange collection, just gonna get this **** done

no helpful hills nearby so i had to go in straight down. this is a picture taken from my aerial drone

the light in the upper right is me helpfully holding a torch to illuminate the area for the purposes of this photo. food poisoning is sorted.

copper extraction was a little tricker than the others due to the placement of a wanker HQ, np tho. i went under cover of darkness and mined all night, then sent my critter up there in the morning to ID a soft spot in their patrol



thats their base. i circled the patrol drones. dunno if they are smart enough to see my critter so i stayed quite far away

back home now with all necessary materials for ship construction
