"infinite" side-quests? I do not anticipate that. Psedo-randomly generated side-quests just for the sake of a time-sink is not enjoyable IMO

Well, if I understood what they were saying properly, the objective (i guess at least at first) was to spread you out over the map to discover interesting areas. Presumably at some point you would have covered every area, but I doubt they expect many people to play beyond that.

I agree w/ not being that excited about infinite quests. I'm not sure any game has ever pulled that off in a manner that didn't feel like it lacked substance.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

so whats the consensus best way to get the game for pc?

Should I buy it and preload it from steam or buy the hard copy? If I buy the hard copy can I give it to my friend and he can play (when im not playing?)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

you guys are crazy; this infinite quest thing sounds like exactly what i wanted from the DB questline in Oblivion. Radiant will be able to choose an infinite number of targets in areas you havent yet been sounds good.

even if it is mediocre, its a total bonus on top of the main questline

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

My issue is that the quests always end up feeling generic as a result of being generic. Quests where a human actually had to put it together, give characters dialogue related to it, maybe put some small story in it, are >>> quests randomly generated by some system.

Agreed. I'm going to be fairly disappointed if these RNG quests make up a a decent portion of the sidequests.

I don't think there's any good reason to get a hard copy unless something cool comes in the box. Once you install it, you have to associate it with your steam account anyway, at which point its the same as having bought it on steam anyway. Your friend wouldn't be able to use your copy without logging into your steam account.
