Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Anybody know a release date? That way I know I only have a month to wait after that.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

i'm at level 55 with an assassin/illusionist. Got to top tier smithing, enchanting, sneak and illusion perks. Maybe something else too.

Getting a little bored. Loved the game at first so I avoided the main questline and did almost all side quests but I'm wishing I hadn't taken that approach because it's getting more tedious than fun now. Plus going that route I cannot imagine I will run into any decent gear for the rest of the game compared to what I have. I've barely done any of the main quest line.

I did install some of the mods linked in this thread but i think my character is just way too overpowered with the weapons and armor getting boosted by double enchants AND + smithing gear to give me better upgraded dragon armor etc.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'd suggest you don't do the main quest-line with your overpowered character. At the point you're at now, you will just be hacking your way through gimps and getting bored.

IMO, you need to restart with a Nord barbarian (with a big two-handed hammer of course) and do the main quest - pick a faction and follow through the storyline. Doing any more of it with the character you have now will ruin that first play-through experience.

It's funny the number of posts that go "I've maxed out my enchanting/smithing/sneaking... this game is too easy" - you've almost got to put limiters on what you do in this game, or it will become too much of a cake-walk. Don't use smithing, then you'll actually get excited when you find a piece of ebony armor in a dungeon.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I decided to give this game another go. I only created one character and got up to level 28 in 65 hours of play. I didn't come close to finishing the main story line.

I'd been checking out skyrim nexus for gameplay overhaul mods and I found one that is pretty damn great.

For any PC gamers, I'd suggest checking this out. The mod is also compatible with other great mods like Deadly Dragon's, Monster Mod, and SkyUI. There is a large list of compatible mods in the PDF file.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Dawnguard DLC comes out tomorrow so I might hop back into the game. Never actually finished the main quest though I might start over with a new character.

Im also back in playing a character for Dawnguard and can confirm that SkyRe is amazing. If you download it though, make sure to also download the Elys Uncapper and custom SkyRe settings. This will allow skills to raise above 100(which there are perks for) and give more perks per level than 1 (which SkyRe is balanced around). The amount of people complaining in the mods thread that its too hard/they need too many perks for crafting/etc is staggering.

Also great, and just got a SkyRe patch, is Immersive Armors. This guys mod is getting hot and absorbing other quality armor mods atm it seems too.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I've been playing dawnguard on the xbox and have very mixed feelings about it. On the one hand the battles versus gargoyles can be quite interesting. There have been a few times where I finished one off with only a tiny sliver of health remaining. Whereas prior to DG, it felt like I was crushing the hell out of 99% of enemies and the other 1% would be freaking impossible - nothing in between.

On the other hand, it is full of missions where you have to find objects close by. Like a lady losing a delmar strut or something like that. You wander around till you find it. This is not fun at all and seems to be what you spend half the time doing. I haven't done much with the new weapons/skill tree etc though

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'm not even sure I wanna get back into Skyrim. It was fun but towards the end I simply hated everyone, The Nords, The High Elves and pretty much every other NPC I didn't even finish the war quest at the end, First I said I would support the High Elves and their leadership then i changed my mind and had everyone pissed at the meeting and that was the last I played. Maybe I'll just kill everyone become a vampire in the DLC (when I can actually play it) and finish everyone else off.
