Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Ok, you video game geeks need to help me out.

Am I getting this for ps3 or PC?
-I really loved morrowind on x-box, never tried it on PC.
-I didn't like oblivion on pc, never played console.
-I generally dislike console games, gta4 is the only game in recent memory that I finished on console. I disliked Arkham asylum on ps3.
-My pc was a high end gaming laptop, but is a few years old now. I can run oblivion at highest settings no problem. I will not be getting a new pc for the forseeable future.

So, what's my play? pc or ps3?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Do you like to get in there and mod things? If so, the PC version is the way to go.

I loved Oblivion on PS3, but people have done some amazing stuff with it on PC.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I play Oblivion ONLY on the PC, it would freak me out on a console. I usually have 4gb of mods installed, including all the best visual upgrades.

If you like modding, go for PC ( hoping that the modding community will answer the call )

My head is exploding trying to reconcile these three things.

I think PC.

Yeah, it makes no sense. I think I was in the perfect mindset when I played morrowind on xbox. I was injured and in pain for about a week, and I played it nonstop like a drug on my roommates machine. It really was an escape mechanism, and did the trick perfectly.

Pretty sure I'll get pc and hope that my computer can do it justice. I usually get sick of games before I get the desire to mod, but have modded a bit in the past.

Worst case if I get it and it won't run satisfactorily I can get the console, and give the pc version to the kids. They have fairly decent machines that should be able to keep up.

I haven't watched any videos in like, two months, because I want to be completely surprised at everything. And I'm itching now. Is it 11/11/11 yet?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

the best route is to wait a month before it's released and play it on PC. by that time, the modding community would have largely fixed what is sure to be an imperfect release

Random things I liked reading this:

* Spell Tomes consumed upon use
* Ability to brawl with citizens to get information. Should be nice to get some use out of hand to hand other than fighting rats and crabs.
* Followers in the form of hirelings which might actually be handy unlike certain people in other versions (Adoring Fan)

That was an amazing preview. As if I needed to be more amped up about this game releasing.
