For example:

One of the biggest issues with PvP that I've heard is dying and returning to battle. Yea, it's a good distance between keeps, and if you have to reinforce my foot it isn't fast. But, and this is the problem with these reviews, when you are in the battle and die you can rezz yourself with soul gems (at no health so obviously can't do this in battle) or be rezzed by friends with soul gems. Also, forward outposts can be used by allies (which will be very common among attacking guilds) where you and your allies can respawn just outside of battle. Basically, the whole siege system we saw in beta weekends have been devoid of either, and during release these systems will fix what has been one of the biggest reviewer criticisms.

A lot of prominent reviewers whined about death returning to battle (angry joe among some) but it's just not a problem with the game more so a problem with PvPing among only level 10 players. I honestly wonder how much any of the reviewers even spent looking at the game or the skills and mechanics.

Since the NDA has lifted, my review:

I'm in it for the PvP and lol at people who either judge or listen to judgements based on beta tests in beginner zones of pve. "I got to level 9. Game sucks.". lol....the last time pve was truly enjoyable for me was my first mmo. Now it is a means to an endgame, at least for me. I would rather PvP to level. But seriously, even if I hated a game's first 10 levels it is kinda hard to make a judgement on the rest of the game based on beta tests of the beginner zone imo.

I was a PvP melee in beta, but a level 10 with no skill points in a zerg was ass. I really like tanking for PvE as I feel like DPS is just zzzzzz clickery, but I'm not sure how that will transition to PvP. You get most rewards for killing or healing, and as a tank most of the time you won't be doing much of either.

See. This is a perfect example. If someone is reviewing a game on a reputable site and citing this as an issue without understanding how rezzing and soul gems will work they are morans and shouldn't be doing game reviews.

I saw several people asking for smaller zones because of this too. The zones are monstrous and awesome as they are. Small groups can roam all over and cause havoc.

I honestly don't remember a game in which melee was a great zerg class in pvp. Range usually has a leg up in pvp imo and it is a hard challenge for devs to make melee relevant in large group pvp. In a small roaming group they will kick ass though I think. I'm going to level a stealther next beta I think.

I do think PBAOE will be possibly strong too if you can get right in groups of people that suck at aiming.

ETA: My favorite thing so far is the hard cc it appears they will have in pvp. In DAOC you could mez groups of like 50 people and aoe the **** out of them if you were in a coordinated PBAOE group. There appear to be some lengthy stuns and mezzes in the game at early levels already. I predict much butthurt.

http://esohead.com/calculator/skills

Full skillset calculator is online. I can see plenty of melee builds that will have a lot of survivability. When using Siege, being able to survive a few treb blasts probably will be very useful. I can see melee being amazing in certain scenarios like taking the walls after a breach or taking the keep itself. I guess if I'm playing with a guild and not just puging a lot of the melee issues will fix themselves.

Also I don't know if I'd enjoy the game for very long if all I was doing was standing on the walls shooting at people hoping to get the last hit on the kill for a reward.

thx for the link. I really hope the realm vs. realm delivers. My friend got my hopes up big time for GW2 and that was a huge letdown.

I found a writeup from a beta tester that talks about level 50+ and Vet ranks. This is the first real detail I've seen of late/endgame content. Seems positive.

I'm pretty positive about this game despite the lacklustre early level content. Will probably buy it if I have the time available to make it worth while.

New beta this weekend.

Everyone already in the beta got an extra key to give away. If anyone is interest in the game and wants to mess around in beta lmk. I'll be playing Daggerfall Covenant.

So have they made huge improvements since rhe first beta weekend? I skipped playing the last two because it was so awful trying to level.

Yea. They basically removed the starter island and added NPC collision detection. Don't know if either changes will be in this open beta or not.

They won't be. Those changes are in v0.18, and this weekend's beta is v0.171:

Got a code. I've never really been a fan of MMOs but figured I would try this while it is free in beta. I also wanted to see how it would run on my laptop to try and judge if i can play Skyrim.

ZOM def making a mistake having this beta run .171 and not .18 with added NPC collision and start island makeover. Going to be a lot of guys who this is their 'one look' at the game so I don't know why they won't give it all the polish they can.

I was so excited for this game that I built a new PC just to play it but ended up starting FFXIV:ARR last year. Great game and hasn't lost its appeal six months later. Wife got into it and we play together with her on PS3 and me on PC.

We both would love to play ESO but they'll be segregating PC and console players so we can't. Big mistake by the developers IMO. Oh well.

think ps4 servers will be dead compared to pc ones?

dead? Elder Scrolls is a huge franchise so probably not, but you'll have to wait 2 months to play and that might end up stealing PS4 players to the PC.

Who wants to hang out and do some cool stuff? I'm lvl 8 and am fairly new to the game so I've just been running around doing odd quests. Would like to explore some other places in the game/do some two player group stuff.... Whatever really. PM me!
