Climbing through rank 3 atm with my own homebrew aggro/tempo warrior deck teched against all the tokens, feels pretty good so far. Was playing a bunch of HS since the expansion but the meta already sucks and it still has all the problems of that game. What I really appreciate about TESL is how almost every loss I see multiple places where I misplayed or could have taken alternate lines and could have likely won. There's no "oh my opponent hit his 1-2-3 curve and I didn't, concede because I 100% lose" type stuff, sure sometimes you don't hit your outs and it sucks but games usually feel winnable the entire time.

I hit r6 like weeks ago and have been only clearing quests since. What's your list look like? I have 8k dust burning a hole in my pocket. Managed to pick up 3 ofs on a few of the auto-include epics which is nice.

If you upload your collection to legends decks, you can browse all the decks on that site and it will tell you exactly what cards, if any, you are missing. It takes a while to upload the collection but it's worth it in the long run imo until you become a master deckbuilder.

Trying out blood dragons vs underworld vigilantes (vigilante your only real burst from hand) and shadowfen priests vs earthborne spinners (priests seem slow, killing supports so good since meta seems like all tokens or dragon scout, but dropping spinners means even fewer 4 drops).

Lack of 4 drops only problem but usually can do double 2 drop or coin 5 into coin 5. The options at 4 for red/purple aren't really amazing besides the legendaries, its basically lumbering ogrim, candelhearth brawler, preserver of the root, corrupted shade, or midnight sweep. Sweep is 2 guards and a prophecy but feels horrible playing from hand. Ogrim and shade are big piles of stats and usually draw removal but neither is amazing, plus i only have 1 of each and don't want to craft more. Brawler is another guard and more burst from hand but no northwind outpost means hes worst than in face decks. Root is in theory great but its a 4/4 on t4 and most of my aggro games are decided before t7 where it would be a 6/6 guard.

Any advice on drafting for chaos arena?

looks to be the same as versus except with weird lane rules

Haven't played it in a long time but I recall prioritizing a lower mana curve because games are crazy and can end faster.

Yeah it's definitely faster. I ended up going 6. Lost a game to a turn 10 miraak when I was way ahead. No idea why between the lanes has paarthanux rated so high in arena. It's ****ing awful. Literally just a dead card in my hand every game. The other picks were just objectively bad but having another card to play as opposed to floating was still better I'm sure.

Got 7 wins for the first time in chaos. Didn't think I had a particularly good deck but I gamed the lanes a bit. Went 7-2 and surprisingly had two games where we swapped decks entirely and I won both of those. Got 205g, 2 Skyrim packs, 1 core pack, 120 gems, not too shabby.

Switched back to blood dragons... I still have 3 from when I played a year ago and mid Archer was king. It's weird because they aren't in Archer decks anymore or seemingly any decks, I guess people think they are too slow? Maybe SJUD can explain because a 5 mana 5/7 that can dodge guards and attack both lanes seems pretty good to me.

Surprised to see ramp scout in T1. I just get run the **** over by token decks anytime I try to play it, and I have *most* of the good cards now.

I'm not sure what to craft. I have enough to make token crusader, scout or mid assassin/mage. I guess it's probably best to make green or blue cards since they have the most overlap?

I have no frame of reference as to what lists I'll even enjoy. I was thinking merric BM could be fun and I already have a lot of the cards. Seems like it's not super good outside of tourneys though.

I suppose I should not really be "surprised" that others can make decks work that I can't /shrug

I'd just browse legends-decks.com until I found something that looked interesting, that's what I've mostly been doing. There's also occasionally a good idea on the r/elderscrollslegends

That's what I do but on most lists I'm 3 daggerfalls and 2 atromancers short. They seem like super safe crafts but if I pull the trigger and hate the deck I'm gonna be sad.

Yeah I'm crafting 3 daggerfalls as soon as I have the dust, which given the drops nerf should be some time unfortunately.

Token crusader is super cheap and fun. One of the versions on the meta snapshot has 0 legendaries. Like i posted a while back its probably my fav archetype at the moment because there are so many different wants to build and play crusader. Plus the mono-yellow base works with any of the token decks anyways so might as well make that and try it out if you don't have the staple epics like pit lion or divine fervor. If you like the token playstyle and want to do token mage you can then make the daggerfalls since they are in every blue deck anyways.

Atromancher/daggerfall are super safe crafts just because they slot in ~every blue deck, so crafting them lets you do mid assassin, mid mage, control mage, mid sorc, etc on top of stuff like merric. Even if you pull the trigger and hate merric its not like you will regret crafting them unless you never want to play anything but aggro decks.

Alternatively you can make tazkad and play mid archer which is really fun and has been tier 1/2 for the entire games existence and can be built in a bunch of different ways. Tazkad is ridiculously strong and is always going to be a safe craft since its already been nerfed already. However since its 1x copy and green isn't as OP as blue its not going to be quite as versatile as the blue staple legendaries but he's still in ~every green deck including fun stuff like goblins.

Yeah those were pretty much my thoughts. Appreciate it. I keep opening horrific legendaries. Just got staff of sparks today.

And a daggerfall mage now. I guess I know what deck I'm playing.

Patch notes out:

https://bethesda.net/community/topic...-release-notes

Bunch of bug fixes but also some balance change:
Soul tear 2 mana -->3 mana
Atromancer 9 mana -->10 mana
Shield breaker 2 mana -->3 mana
Imprison 1 mana -->2 mana
Thief of Dreams 5/5 -->4/4
Brynjolf 4/4 -->4/5
Cliffside lookout 2/4 -->2/5
Young dragonborn 3/2 -->3/3

Any Soul Summoned copies of Soul Tear, Supreme Atromancer, Shield Breaker, Imprison, and Thief of Dreams can be Soul Trapped for their full value until September 9, 2017.

Imprison seems big, wonder how big the impact on tokens is. Soul tear seems meh to me but i don't play much ramp scout, 3 mana doesn't seem like a big change for slow decks. Atro nerf is funny since we were literally just talking about how safe a craft it is.

That cliffside lookout buff looks spicy though, 3 mana 2/5 is great stats and a 3/6 with a t4/5 dragon is ridic. Doesn't really fit into any decks atm afaik, maybe control monk? Its currently only in 2% of willpower decks on legend-decks, i'd expect a big increase from that.

Seems like a big ramp scout buff patch overall, soul tear nerf doesn't look like it does anything while some of the strongest cards in anti-ramp decks (imprison, atro, thief) got nerfed. Even shield breaker nerf will impact aggro red decks trying to get through all the taunt walls. Welp.

Yay scout. Glad I didn't craft stuff for the merric list which is allegedly dead now.

Love all the changes. Soul Tear was ridiculously OP at 2 mana, hell it's still a great card at 3.
