Re: E3 2012 June 4-7

That was being played maxed out on a PC so don't expect it to look that good on PS3/360.

Re: E3 2012 June 4-7

HIGHLIGHTS SO FAR:

TOMB RAIDER: http://youtu.be/0DAPD4x4TOw

Who knew someone would make a good Tomb Raider game again. Cinematically it seems to borrow a lot from Uncharted, which is no bad thing.

WATCH DOGS: http://youtu.be/xU7WGAJPRRw

From out of nowhere, GAME OF THE SHOW so far. Cant believe an open world game can actually look this good. Excited.

ASSASSINS CREED III: http://youtu.be/Ni2R8Il3ZzU

A change of scenery to the AMERICAN CIVIL WAR. Think this will bring a lot of people back to the franchise. The movement through the new enviroment looks extremely smooth. Had their A team working on this while the B team churned out the other games. Looks like a step-up.

THE LAST OF US: http://youtu.be/-OItRV33DfA

Zombie apocalypse game from the creators of UNCHARTED. Sign me up. Looks like an even more polished version of Uncharted if thats possible. Not disappointed.

BEYOND TWO SOULS: http://youtu.be/mkJffwIH5xk

Follow-up to HEAVY RAIN. Main character played by ELLEN PAIGE. Looks to be in the same style as Heavy Rain. Hopefully theyve tweaked some of the things which were frustrating with that game.

HITMAN ABSOLUTION: http://youtu.be/9_pal859keA

Im a sucker for stealth games so im excited for this. This demo shows all the different ways of completing a mission. Something i loved about Deus Ex was the small variety of ways of completing the same task and this seems to have a whole array of options for assassinations.

lol at halo 4. Should've been called Metroid 4.

Also, lol at the youtube comments wars between halo and COD fans, like they're playing anything different.

I have been a Nintendo owner my whole life, so obviously that conference is the highlight for me. But I have a damn meeting at work at the same time . Just not the same as watching it live.

Wow, Watch Dogs looked amazing.

Like a high tech Assassin's Creed.

Re: E3 2012 June 4-7

I'm sure Nintendo will have a good press conference since they are showcasing all the Wii U launch titles but I find myself having a hard time caring. Only consoles I've ever regretted purchasing are the Wii and to a lesser extent the Gamecube. With the Wii I basically just played VC games for a month or 2 and then sold the console. I have absolutely no desire to play more rehashes of Mario & Zelda.

Looking at the PS3 I see they added Instant Library to PS+. As someone who has more or less ignored console gaming over the last couple years in favor of PC gaming (besides a couple console exclusives) it seems like a pretty great deal. Subscribe to PS+ and get to download and play a bunch of PS3 games. Sure the games are a bit old but I still haven't played many of them. Bought a years subscription for $50 and get:

inFAMOUS 2
LittleBigPlanet 2
Saints Row 2
Just Cause 2
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Virtua Fighter 5
Plus a couple others

Seems like a no brainer if you haven't played any of them, plus they said they will add new games over time. Just ordered a new HD for my PS3.

Microsofts conference was pretty underwhelming. I played the Halo games up to and including ODST, skipped Reach and I have a hard time caring about Halo 4. Black Ops 2 looks like more of the same. I'm sure I'll pirate it and play the campaign through once like I have done every other COD game. Gears of War I only played the first. South Park RPG looks interesting, thankfully it is coming to PC.

Looking forward to:

Watch Dogs
Tomb Raider
Hitman Absolution
Assassins Creed 3

I liked how Sony added old PS1 games to it's library, kinda like Nintendo did day 1 of the Wii. JET MOTO, so many memories.

Can not wait for the Nintendo presser.

I didn't watch it but looked at joystiq's live blog recap, and I would agree with that statement.

Okay, now that they talked a little bit about Zombi U, it actually sounds interesting. You can build up skills and stuff, but once your character dies, they're gone. You take control of a new survivor and apparently have to get your supplies from the zombie version of your previous character. Not sure if that's exactly how it works, but it sounds cool.

Pretty sure this is the best news out of E3 on Wii-U for me.

Morgan Webb looked like she was getting a little... excited when they started talking about Vampires in Dawnguard.
