Hope this means more people are gonna start pushing early now in pubs, thank goodness

Final was boring but not Liquid's fault. Newbee was like the OpenAI bot, insanely good vs what they know, but throw them a curveball team like Liquid and they look silly out there (50 ppl beat the sf bot fast by wave cutting or getting euls). Too bad Wings disbanded since not only would they make a TI run but also bring up the rest of Chinese Dota by providing a completely different meta team to practice against. I feel this TI is karma for Chinese orgs fk'ing over Wings

Other western teams besides VP basically choked IMO, especially EG ofc (ppd return inc?) VP got unlucky running into Liquid, if they had to go thru anyone else I think it's quite possibly a Liquid VP final.

LFY was super impressive, the LB final was definitely the better final series.

Kinda thinking they should make LB final bo5 and only have one series that day, insane how Liquid breezed thru GF with hardly any prep time.

One more: Team Secret was probably the closest team to eliminating Liquid.... they actually were able to outdraft Liquid

there were 5 chinese teams, 4 finished in the top 6th, how are we spinning this as a bad result for chinese dota?

i mean yeah, they did extremely well and it was very surprising they didn't take the title. overall great tournament for chinese dota... i'm quite curious to know what their scene's reaction is to TI7 overall. on one hand china dominated, but on the other the finals was a quick 0-3

just realized there is the possibility of iceiceice joining a western team.... pleaseeee that would be so amazing. Secret.iceiceice incoming?

might see more foreign players joining chinese teams too. both the top 2 chinese teams at TI had foreign players (newbee had kpii from AUS and LFY has Ahfu from malaysia, DDC is from macau as well but he's been in china scene so long)

OR... actually this is more probable: we'll see a return of LGD.int or something like that, chinese org making international squad to diversify strategies and provide good scrim partners as well

Ran into another 2p2er in solo Q (Rainkhan, I think). Hard to win a game when your mid is the lowest net worth 25 minutes into the game. Sigh. 10 game streak snapped.

Cool vid but damn is it really that hard to explain what Dota 2 is to people? Kinda wish there were more Dota 2 personalities on there besides just SUNSfan

Dota's biggest hurdle as an e-sport is that it's impossible to really enjoy watching it unless you actually play the game, or have played it. Contrast that to a game like CS:GO or Rocket League, and the skill is much more visibly apparent.

Hope this VICE guy sticks with it and tries to learn the game

This is the beauty in dota i think.
You really need to be on it and take it seriously to be part of the community.
Thats why you dont see 13-16 years old players in dota.

So I did a right click techies last night. His level 25 talent is +250 damage. I went offlane til level 3 then I went to jungle and farmed with mines and grabbed bounties. I hit level 25 at the ~42 minute mark. Build order:

1. Soul Ring
2. Arcane Boots
3. Midas
4. Maelstrom
5. AC
6. Maelstrom -> Mjollnir
7. Moon Shard
8. Arcane Boots -> BoTs
9. Eye of Skadi

My team basically carried me without me needing to leave jungle, but it was hilarious seeing techies attack that fast. Basically 3 of his attack projectiles were in the air before a single one hit a creep. Highlight of game was on a final push before we won I got jumped by an LC and I completed destroyed her in a duel. I didn't get a kill with remotes all game, or regular mines (wow that ability got hugely nerfed). The blast off spell is good for getting first blood.

All in all, the hero is absolutely awful but its hilarious either way. 10/10. I need to work on the build in order to master the art of right click techies - I will be back with any future updates and I welcome your item/playstyle recommendations. I def think I maybe should have gotten a crit, or a hurricane pike/shadow blade. But my goal was to maximize attack speed sine I knew my damage output was going to be taken care of with level 25 talent. Still needed some more utility/gankability.

so it turns out that game was a fluke and right click techies is even worse than i thought. no point to even play this game anymore

I think it can work if you transition into late game that way from the 4 position rather than go carry. I have seen a few fun replays. The slows with talent, armour and skadi get ridiculous.

right click lich seems like it would be a lot better, he actually doesnt take 45 minutes to come online. i didnt realize he had +150 damage either. Also he should get the levels really fast with sacrifice (and midas obv, which is core on every hero in pubs). Trying it now, will report back.

Yeah it can work fine like that, just don't set out to do so and buy a couple of wards and veil etc on the way.

If you take mid farm and don't contribute anything to support items and expect to snowball then there's obviously better heroes for that

i went offlane and zoned people out and stole XP from their safelane. got 10 minute midas. i didnt buy any support items for rest of game after initial items though because my team flamed me (lets be honest i prob wouldnt have anyway, we had a monkey king pos 5 lul)

my build was:

midas
MoM
maelstrom
shadowblade
BoT
mjolnnir
satanic
butterfly

my team flamed me the entire game. They were especially tilted when i was level 18 and I BoT'd around to wave clear camps with my ultimate. It's only a 60s CD, but yeah they were livid from that.

Seems like an excellent reason to aid your team in buying support things. It's even possible they picked MK and flamed you because they thought you were going to play pos 5 lich (or get you do still do so)
