With longer duration on max reactive armor (16 -> 20 seconds), I am constantly attacking creeps with the hero, or jungling before a team fight to get all my stacks up. It's been working pretty well, but some games yeah I think the plate mail armor is necessary, like vs Slardar ofc.

IMO Bloodstone is way way better than Octarine on Timber, the idea with Bloodstone is just to get the Timber engine up and rolling. You want enough mana to spam all your spells constantly, whether it's in a team fight or flash farming the whole map. Bloodstone with enough charges, lens, and blink dagger makes it so you can farm insanely fast.
