spend 8 years on a product, still worse than league of legends and the riot games servers (not a high bar to clear)

Re: DOTA 2

Just watching the replay while at work - nothing really seems to happen?
The idea of the game sounds good though and I never played a game like it before, is it worth trying league of legends?

Re: DOTA 2

Is it just me or did the entire site just crash?

So far I'm not very impressed. The observer interface is about 5 steps backwards from what HoN has and the graphics are meh. I've never played DOTA or LoL but I understood what was going on when watching LoL a lot better than I have been in this match.

Re: DOTA 2

to be honest its two chinese teams infamous for hour long + games ricing and saving for buybacks

kind of a bad way to introduce dota to the masses. If i were producer i would hvae gone with a euro team or tried to get navi in premier

Re: DOTA 2

Also is there a stream that actually has commentary? The English stream doesn't appear to have any.

i played dota casually for a while and I found it pretty easy to follow what was going on. I enjoyed the part where the announcers were mia I found it easier to follow without some guy screaming

The interface is definitely clunky and has a blocky feel to it. Hopefully that's just an observer mode and will be changed in the future

Re: DOTA 2

I could work out some of what was going on by working out the equivalent HoN characters (like I knew clockwerk = pharoah and tiny = pebbles) but for the characters I didn't know the animations were really indistinct and it was very hard to work out what was doing what. I'm sure it would get a lot better with familiarity with the game.
