Traded BF3 for DOTA 2 with someone on reddit, really liking it atm, runs like silk!

I have an AMD processor and no invite. Then again I have a 9800GT, so may be a bit old for their first wave wants.

even in hon he's way weaker and still viable in some competitive comps

In orginal dota with current hero pool he doesn't seem that imba, he's a 1 to 1 port from original and just seems imba atm in the current dota 2 pool, I guess other than that you can try to shut him down early, but its harder cause he can blink

Magina has always been a good hero, but never struck me as overpowered.

He's squishy.

OD completely destroys AM. AM is a good hero but he is hardly overpowered. Heroes such as Invoker and Shadow Demon deserve nerfs more. Lich is also another hero that should be tweaked a little to adjust the lame dominance however I doubt that will happen. Phoenix and rubick are probably the two most broken heroes at the moment but they are not in captain's mode so whatever.

there is a lack of carry options in DOTA2 currently. I mean the only viable ones are really spectre, AM, Weaver, and to a lesser extent Morphling.

In regular Dota, you have Lycan and Syllabear who can at least go toe to toe with AM in the midgame and push a bit better, gaining you some early money advantage in terms of tower kills.

The lack of semi counter options such as OD also makes AM really strong.

printingmoney is definitely correct that as good as AM is, he is not nearly as overpowered as Invoker, Shadow Demon, Lich in a competitive setting.

Also, a hero like AM does better in pubs, against people less familiar with the game or competitive play. It takes a certain level of coordination to shut down a carry with a good escape ability; a level of coordination most pubs don't have.

But the real point of this post is that it allows me to show this screenshot of the game I just played.

Exactly Amoeba. That is the exact problem I have with dota 2 at the moment at the competitive level. Certain heroes are not kept in check because the proper heroes who counter them have not been added yet and some of them are not even in the captain's mode (i assume they need more beta testing before being added to cm). That is why I am glad that WDC reverted back to original dota.

Nice score Tabako. I agree that most pubs lack strong coordination unless it is a high skilled one. Not to diminish your score or anything but with AM against that team lineup, you should very rarely if ever die assuming your team isn't bad since they only have one stun in SK. Sprout obviously does nothing against you.

It really expands your idea about lack of coordination since the scourge only selected one stunner against a team with a blink, a leap, and a hook out all of which diminish the effectiveness of furion's sprout.

I hope at least one of those items in that screenshot is a divine rapier.

My items, in order, are manta, mkb, rapier, bfury, butterfly, aegis

AM without boots is actually pretty bad even with all of those items, but game was over when I bought rapier and this inventory is cooler.

I believe his third item on the left is rapier but not positive havn't really watched any dota2 after the international tourney.

No need for aegis if you are never gonna get close to dying though. In those situations I just let my teammates pick it up.
