Archimonde is the epitome of the ****** check encounter, and it took us 140 attempts to kill him if thats any indication of some of my fellow guild members.

I picked this up last year and tried playing for awhile and didn't really get into it. I took a little break last month and was playing WOW every day for a week or so, and still didn't really get into it.

I just don't really get it.

Everything seems pretty repetitive and boring. When I level, I can do the same stuff I always did, only in a different part of the map.

Everyone always says "oh it gets better once you reach a higher level", but I'm not really seeing it. I'm at 40 right now and am not really having that much fun with it. The only thing that looks interesting is the arena competitions, but thats lv 70 only and seems like it'll take months of playing every single day to get to that point and I'm not sure if I'm up for that.

It bums me out a little bit b/c I have a pretty addictive personality, and I always hear about how people sink all of their time into the game and I figured that wouldn't happen unless it was pretty fun. I guess I just don't get it.

the game is quite a bit past its prime sadly ;( (at least for high end hardcoreish people)

hopefully the next expansion will make the game not suck so much

Great idea, especially for hardcore PvP'ers. But I wish they would just revamp all the classes for the Arena. WoW was most definitely designed as a PvE first game and PvP has always been an afterthought (although recently it's been getting ALOT more attention obv). I doubt it's possible to balance the game in a way such that PvE'ers and PvP'ers are both satisfied. This is why I would like to see possible "Arena only" game changes.

to expect balance in WoW is silly, but its pretty sad how far the game is from even being remotely balanced in any way shape or form. druids are extremeley overpowered in arena, outshining the other healing classes by leaps and bounds

No, they're not. And the game is quite balanced. If it wasn't, the same combination would be the top 20+ of every arena bracket.

Countering evidence with opinion isn't the best way to engage in an argument.

A large portion of the 2v2 druids are going to be feral. 3v3 there close to priest with only a little spike at the super high end.

There are class imbalances in arena but since arena is a small part of the game and if you want to play it seriously you have the arena servers now I don't see that as a huge deal.

Stop acting like a douche bag.

Hey no offense, but please tone down on the douchebaggery.

Obviously resto druids are much better than feral for any arena team. Spending two minutes looking at any arena forum or any armory profile you can see that.

sorry if i looked like a douche bag, but the druid issue gets to me(i achieved #1 in 2 brackets in season 2 as a paladin, but my class has declined heavily since then)

Unsurprisingly, you left out 5v5 which is what the devs pretty much solely balance around.

Awww, did someone's MS warrior dump him for a druid when the winds of change started blowing that way?

That's what I love about WoW. At any random time, some new class gets to be the best. You see it on account sale sites all the time. Whatever is the hot now class that just got imba by a new patch, they sell for craploads and everyone is trying to trade for one, whereas you can pick up the now 'useless' classes for pennies on the dollar.

Hurts to think that if I'd held on to that druid for a few more months, I probably coulda got an extra $100-200 for it, but oh well, I still's picked me up a priest on the cheap.

Also, it seems priests are useful in arena teams, should I arena mine? If so, what spec? (Last time I played a priest was before Naxx came out)

For arena, priests are pretty powerful. However, be prepared to be focused first just abut every time because mana burn is so powerful. Disc/Holy is pretty much the way to go. Shadow can work with a strong support team to keep them alive as the spec is pretty much devoid of all CC, escape, and defensive abilities.

It used to be balanced for 5v5 not any more. 3v3 is where their attention is at. I don't do too much of any WoW anymore but Druids were getting absolutely RIDiciLOUS. They stealth, wait, when their partner gets low, pop out, hot, travel form away, drink, repeat.

The arena tournament server will be fun, but casuals are in for a rude awakening. When you get good players from every battlegroup playing priest, mage, rogue and having alternative character slots for the meta game, it just sounds like a headache.

Now that I've hit level 70, I'm starting to wonder, "what is there to do?"

I went to Sunwell yesterday and did 7 dailies, which was alot of fun doing bombing missions. Plus, they are really quick to do. I got a lot of gold by doing that. I guess it's good to grind out 5000 some gold to get my epic flyer. Then I did the Halaa raid and that was painful because as soon as you die, you have to walk 3 1/2 miles back to your body, which got old really quick.

Is it all about just gearing up and running raids/dungeons?

I want to try and clear out my quest log because everything I have (besides Shadowmoon) are dungeons. I get gold from them, but I'm not gaining experience, so it takes away from the whole idea behind questing. All-in-all, I feel like I lost something. I guess I have to find my part of the game now that I'm finally at the end.

Maybe I'll start playing my Warrior again or continue with my Warlock inbetween.

Well if I had a 70, I wouldn't do much. Seeing as how Wrath of the Lich King is coming out later this year and will bring all sorts of new items there isn't much use in trying to get all the best gear (which would probably take you all the time up until WotLK). I think you should just save up a bunch of gold and get "good enough" gear for WotLK and then retire the character for a few months.
