Funny video, but I wish he had taped the reveal too!

Grats on downing him!

My guild finally cleared all the way to Lich King with their core group of 10 last week. They got a few attempts in on him, and they said they got him down to about 54%. I don't know if they're going to extend their lockout this week or not. A lot of them have 25man gear from before our guild stopped having enough people on to actually raid 25man mode, so I don't think that gear is going to be a huge issue.

My warrior tanked a PUG ICC 10 last night and we got the first 4 bossed down no problem. We did gunship on Heroic, and it was very very easy. We got to Festergut and had a couple wipes before an Ele. Shaman said "Sorry, I don't need gear from here and this isn't for progression so peace out guys." He was doing less than 5k DPS on average and was cocky as hell for not putting up very impressive numbers, but he still managed to kill the raid.

We did also extend our lockout, took us 2 weeks, about 6 raids total, if your guild's group can hang in there until 40% you have a very big shot on downing him, and 54% is quite good (over halfway in phase 3 which imo is hardest phase)

New guild got first 6 bosses down in about an hour today (30 minutes for first 4) then had a wipefest on putricide before calling it. Trying for him and dreamwalker tomorrow, maybe sindragosa too.

AVR should be required for raiding guilds iyam. Makes malleable goo so easy to avoid, unless you get rooted where its coming.

We also got the first 6 down today, although it took us a little longer (~2.5 hours).

I lucked out and got a new hood + the abracadaver and ended up with enough frost badges to get a good belt so was able to get up to 5500gs after we were done for the night.

I haven't ever looked in to AVR. Is it similar to Deadly Boss Mods?

guild is still stuck at 11/12h in 25 but did manage to kill him in 10

feels bad i missed the 10 man kill...feels good to not be chained to my computer because of raiding

In a hectic fight, avr e puts big, visible designs on the ground so you know where *not* to kite the orange slime.

Hahah my group extended the lockout and we jumped in there for like 30 minutes and got him down too =).

I got the same staff (hunter) -- huge upgrade for me. Other weapon was a healing mace I think?

I spend all this time at work trying to figure out how to completely optimize my characters, and I get upgrade paths all put together in my head, then after work and RL things, I have like 2 hours every 3 days to actually play.

I'm glad I have IRL things to do, but it's frustrating laying everything out and never getting to do it.

Tomorrow its icecrown10 heroic time, i wonder how much harder it will be.

The final boss of each wing is considerably harder than the rest, so you should probably skip all of those the first time you try - unless you have 5 progression days scheduled.

Agreed, the end-wing bosses are more difficult.
In the first wing, Marrowgar is harder on healers, it's basically the same for everyone else.
Deathwhisper becomes much more of an awareness fight.
Gunship battle is lol not different really.
Saurfang is much much harder on healers and your ranged dps need to have a really solid strat for grabbing aggro on the blood beasts and killing them asap. Melee heavy groups are doomed on this fight imo.
Rotface is still easy, we one-shotted him our first attempt.
Festergut is easy as long as people can move from the maleable oozes accordingly.
Putricide is a whole new learning curve and requires good communication.

Patch 3.3.5 to intentionally break AVR. Enjoy while it lasts, I guess.

kk thx we didn't go yet though, did some old school ulduar achievements...

Anyway what's up with dumb people skipping to much in random heroics?
If I wasn't refusing to follow the tank (as a healer) he would've skipped not only the first boss of utgarde pinnacle (the valkyr) but also the one with the 4 mini bosses... jesus, what's up with people

If they're already very well geared and have nothing to gain from Triumph emblems, then they probably just want to get through the instance as fast as possible and get their Frost badges.

When I tank heroics, I will usually plan on skipping non-critical bosses unless someone wants to do them. For example, in Halls of Stone when we get to the junction I'll say, "Do you guys want to do the stone guy and the tall chick?" If they say yes, then we do, if they don't care, we get out of the instance quicker. Old Kingdom is the same way, usually do only 3 of the bosses, but I've done it before where we only do 2.

Just recently I found out that you can just run through the second boss in DTK without actually fighting him. Makes it really quick when you only do 2 bosses in there.

Probably a good thing to do would be to ask at the beginning of an instance if people are here for Triumph or just Frost. Or just state why you're there.
