Uh no. Spend 5 minutes browsing the armory and you'll find tons of 2v2 feral. Hell you can find balance in 2v2. And bellow 2K the balance isn't even that far off. You talk about the very high end like it matters to anyone but a small number of players. Skill and gear are just as important factors for 99% of the players in the game.

Also, 3v3 might be the tourney but 5v5 is where you get the most points and what most players care about the most.

2200+ is really all that matters, any variety of teams can get to 2kish via gear/skill/playing bad teams. you wont find many feral or balance druids 2200+ in any bracket.

anyway, i really dont to want to derail the thread arguing about any of that.

@italianfx

it really depends what youre interested in(ie arena or pve)/how much you can play

Do the prequests for the Ogri'la and the Shatari Skyguard and grind those dailies everyday so you gain rep with those factions. Do all the dailies you can until you have enough gold for your epic flying mount. Also, they added in a blue PvP set that you can easily obtain via the different reputation quartermasters in the Outlands.

I've spent a lot of time looking at the armory before, and I can comfortably say that I have never seen a single feral druid with an arena rating over 2k. You may have caught a druid that PvP's as resto then specs back to feral for PvE, or at least that is the only logical explanation.

I have to disagree with you, 2200+ is not all that matters. 98% of the people that play WoW will not reach a 2200+ arena rating ever. The reason WoW exists is that people have fun while playing. Some have fun raiding, some PvPing, some leveling alts, some twinking alts, some on the AH, but no matter what anyone that still plays this game at least finds a certain aspect enjoyable.

as far as the arena tournament and competitive gaming goes, 2200+ is all that matters, id like to see changes me made on the tournament realm that dont apply to the live realms so they can change whatever necessary without messing with PvE

Yeah, wtf at that? When I first got on this priest, it was shadow, and I went flying around to do some ganking. I ran into another 70 priest in HP that wasn't shadow, and thought, here we go, easy HK. She kept mana burning me while I thought, Ha, what a dumb bitch!

As I was corpse walking back, I thought, wtf just happened?!

I would be interested to find out if disc was always the good arena spec (I never paid attention to arena, but find myself strangely attracted to it now) or if it's somewhat newly popular.

Guess I'll go browse the armory and check out some of the specs.

Disc/holy has been the most popular priest build for arena since season 1. I think Shadow used to be alright in 2v2 during S1 with a UA warlock since they could destroy a lot of team comps.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=bxxGuhgtMcozfVtoM
That should be a good general spec for disc/holy, mix a few points here and there based on your preference obviously

Tyvm for the link. I was having a hard enough time browsing arena teams looking for a priest on armory before my browser decided it hates xml.

42/19 has been what I saw the most of, though, so that goes with what you linked. I'm surprised to see improved healing thrown in there, since I didn't figure you'd be casting a lot of gheals in arena (Again though, I'm a total arena noob). But the idea of reflective shield does give me an e-boner.

Hey guys this is kind of a stupid newbie question, but how should I be gearing my druid at mid 20s - 30s, etc. I'm mostly soloing, so I'm assuming I should be mostly wearing leather and not cloth. But should I be going for str/agility because I'm often in combat? Or spirit/int?

Also I've looked around for talent builds for druids and can't find any that sort of lay it out for you. I know, I'm lazy and could make the decisions myself, but I just don't know that much about WoW and don't want to have to reset my talents because I screwed up.

For you, leveling = feral = agi/stam/str, in that order. All leather. You always want to be wearing the highest proficiency of armor you can wear. If you don't, people will laugh at you and call you a douche (until you get to end game stuff that your guild has on farm: this is the only time it's acceptable to see a holy pally in cloth).

Ok so I think I might get some enjoyment out of playing PvP, but I'm on a PvE server and don't really like the batlegrounds since that seems to dependent on not having idiots as teammates.

Is there anywhere I can go where I can fight 1 on 1 with other people around my level (that isn't just running around challenging randoms to duels)?

very good idea, chances of them doing it slim to none.

and by slim you mean .00000000000001%. Same chances that WotLK will be released this year imo. I mean seriously has Blizzard ever released a product on time?

Man, this thread has really made me want to quit playing this game.

A free tip for you all, I am making good money making spellthreads (golden spellthread, silver spellthread, runic spellthread, and mystic spellthread). The mats cost way less than the sale price. Even if you can't make them yourself, you can still make a good profit hiring a tailor to make them for you (just tip 10-20g per spellthread), call out asking for a tailor indicating that you have all the mats and will tip.

The same can be done with the leg armor that leathercrafters do, but I'm not as familar with that.

I thought this thread had died.

I started doing dailies, daily. I only do the ones in Sunwell, which is like 6-7 that I do because they are quick and easy. I get about 60-70g so it's pretty nice.
I'm still working on my S1 gear too. I need about 8500 more honor to get the S1 head.

Ran 2v2 Arena with a warrior. We had a sad record of 1-13. Only reason we won 1 is because the other team only had 1 player so we won instantly. I'm a mage, he a warrior and even though I was getting taken out within about 10 seconds, I was often doing more damage than him.

I also started a NE Rogue and I think I'm going to stick with him. I like the quickest and melee that he can do. And how he can go invisible so I can sneak up on people. That has always been my problem with my mage is that a rogue will sneak up on me and sap me so I can't move.

I started doing a few of these every now and then. Grinded out 16 of em the other day, which put my toon over 1000g (already have epic flyer). I was pleased. They are great, easy ways to get cash quick.

Well, I may be able to make about 60g profit off one. Is it worth the risk to sink 330g into something that may make me 40-60g in return?

Also, is it good or bad when your gold count mimics your bank statement? What an odd coincidence.

Do you play 24/7, or just whore your toon out somehow?

Don't play with a warrior if you're a mage, thats a crappy combo. Also dont start a NE rogue, their racials sucks. Gnome rogue > Dwarf rogue >>>>>>>> NE rogue.

Also I would buy the current season honor gear (ring, neck, back, trinket etc) for honor instead of the S1 gear. Just make sure you get arena points every week and buy the current season gear for arena points instead and when you've bought all honor gear, then start to fill up your gear with season 1.

I wouldn't say 24/7 but then again I do play more than the average wow player. But then again most of the 10k was NOT done by farming. In 3 weeks, I've gotten 150+ badges of justices as well.
