So maybe I was just unlucky? This is on PS4 fwiw.

I'd step in the DZ, there's like 4 or 5 other people just killing everyone that walked in. Of course walking in alone sucked, maybe if I had a group with me I would've fared better. But they were just camping the entry point. This didn't happen to any of you?

To be fair, most of my time was spent playing single player. So it wasn't like I spent hours trying to be in the DZ. After I kept getting killed as soon as I entered I kinda quit trying.

I never got killed immediately when entering the DZ and never saw anyone else doing it or saw it in chat. Also in the beta there are 3 entrances to the DZ, the southern 2 are checkpoints/airlocks while the northern one is a wall you can jump over to get in.

yeah i entered through one of the airlocks. confirmed bad luck i guess but for an hour or so i was trying to go through and kept getting killed right away and gave up.

Yeah I never had that problem, but I guess if a group decides to post up there for a while, you're kinda screwed. If it becomes an issue I'm sure they'll give spawn protection or something.

My first trip to the darkzone was similar to yours ThaHero - wrecked by 4+ rogues camping the entrance street, just mowing down any noob who dared enter lol.

Second time I sprinted from the get go and made it to safety, and on subsequent days I didn't see another entranceway camp.

FWIW I thought there was only the single entrance/exit in the Alpha, and assumed this wouldn't be much of an issue in the release with multiple entrances at all sides.

My darkzone excursions were almost entirely solo, other than playing with Trench one night which was pretty great.

Is this whole client side editable stats/items thing I keep hearing about gamebreaking? I'm scared because I already gave them money.

There was no anti-cheat in the closed beta. There will be some in the open beta and probably more in the final game.

They released this statement at the end of the closed beta:

Quote:
Over the last few days, we have seen an unprecedented level of interest for the Closed Beta. We are looking into your feedback with care and we are thrilled by your passion and enthusiasm!
We are aware of the cheating issues in the Closed Beta on PC. The team is fully committed to providing solutions against this and a system will be in place to ensure a fair experience for players when the game is released on March 8.
Here are the patch notes for the open beta. Impressive that they basically addressed every major complaint from the closed beta.

Well if you're on PS4 I wouldn't worry about cheating anyway, it was basically all on the PC. The cheating on consoles was from glitches that have been fixed, mainly:

Quote:
  • Fixed two bugs that allowed players to become invisible to other players
  • Fixed an exploit with Ballistic Shield Skill that allowed players to become invincible

Lets hope fairfight or whatever they use isn't completely potato.

Easily game of the year for PC if they can keep these cheating ****s banned.

I played the PC beta for 1h45m before I came to work. I immediately went: Liberate BoO -> Do MSG on hard - > Head to DZ.

I was killed on Darkzone more times already then in the entire open Beta but it was just regular people going rogue, no spawn camping or anything. Darkzone NPCs seem tougher but that could be because I was still using the starter gun, they actually killed me a few times. Their respawn rate was greatly improved, there are basically always NPCs up now.

Also went rogue for the first time because some dumbass stepped in front of me right when I took a sniper shot, taking 3/4s of his life off. I actually didn't finish him off since I was extracting and he never attacked me back but I was killed when 2 other players came by.

When I stopped playing I was Level 6, DZ Rank 6. Think I'm going to only level to 7 to begin with since the DZ brackets are level 4-7 and 8-8. So I'll be level 7 in the lower bracket and farm DZ cash until I can afford the High End weapons and then level to 8.

I'm assuming this will be changed for launch but a Darkzone tip/something to avoid:

If you throw down a turret another player can shoot you once and then your turret will unload on them turning you rogue when you don't expect it. So be careful if you are going to use the turret. On the other hand if you seem some guy throw a turret down you can use this to turn him Rogue and get some free loot

i'll be on tonight and looking to group up. just played a bit and went through the MSG mission. I died and the game froze up on the load screen on what I assume was a respawn.

had to restart. yay.

Played for about 45 mins this morning before work. Confirmed bad luck entering DZ, I entered scott free this time. Nobody camping the entrance and killing me as I walk in.

I always lol when I run by someone else in the DZ, then we both turn around and back away while watching each other, making sure the other person isn't gonna go rogue.

I still suck and have no idea what I'm doing. Hopefully I get better over this weekend.

Will probably be on late tonight(PST), my PSN is twiniskilling so feel free to add me. I could use the help lol.

Going manhunt is awesome. We had a group of 3, one guy was random and it was his first time playing. After a couple npc fights and extractions, he asked if we could go rogue. We ended up being manhunted for 35 minutes. It was just wave after wave of people trying to kill us in a building we posted up in. At one point there were 7 people unloading on us. Felt great when we killed it off.

Carpark Extraction Point still the most dangerous but now it is because of the npc spawns rather than rogue players. I've ran out of ammo several times killing NPCs, something that didn't happen in closed beta.

Those purple guys keep killing me. Definitely wasn't the case in closed beta, there were hardly any NPCs around. I like the change, but there's been a few times where I've been wandering around the DZ, BOOM I get hit by someone, turn around and see purple guys chasing me and I just have to run.

I used to be good at shooters in high school/college ten+ years ago haha, hoping my skills come back to me or it's gonna be a long weekend lol
