I was considering playing solo for the first run of normal, but is there a way to prevent friends from entering games? Yes, I know how to prevent randoms from joining, but from what I saw in the beta, it seems like a friend could enter any game of mine and complete the next quest while I was exploring other areas.

wizard most likely, softcore.

i might do hc one day, plan on getting at least 2 guys to 60 and at least have one geared and ready for pvp before i go down that road, though.

This is what I have read, never tried it in beta:

"If you've got a big friends list and don't want people to join your game without your permission, or just want to play alone, there's an option to disallow "Quick Join" under social options which is what makes your game show up with a "Join" button for friends."

Hmm...might just have to solo Normal...or up to the point where I'm bored of playing by myself.
