I never played Diablo 1/2. Is there any point to the clans besides easy group communication?

many pluses in being in a good clan. power leveling each other, rushing, sharing items, in d2 you needed a little trust not to be pked(player killed) especially if you played on hardcore.

So I found out yesterday that GameStop had sold out of CE preorders awhile back. Are there any other stores that are doing midnight releases and are also accepting preorders for the CE? Or is the only option Amazon with the (possibly late) release day shipping?

Ideally, I would like to be able to play at midnight, but that seems like it may not be an option at this point. I did place an order at Amazon, so I can at least get the Collector's Edition, but I might still call around to see if any other local stores are having a midnight release and still have CEs available to preorder.

Don't happen to play warcraft do you? With the annual pass you get the game right at release then can add a CE later and your account will upgrade. Not sure if there are any other ways to manage doing that same thing.

Hey, anyone intending to race to 60? I am very interested in forming a dedicated party to play nonstop/hard to 60 (Like literally nonstop)

Edit: As I understand it based on a quote from some blizz guy, 60 can be done by beating the game normally (one playthrough each of norm/mare/hell ).

However I think it is faster to skip areas and focus on repeating bosses. (*I am not sure, have not played D3 yet.) Like for example in act 1, instead of doing all the side quests, just do enough to beat the boss, and then beat the boss again a couple times to makeup for those missed quests, then move on to the next act.

Edit 2: Does anyone have the optimal 4-person party? My first guess without knowing anything about the game is going to be barb with a focus on defensive skills and taunts, wd with a focus on auras, wizard with a focus on cc and some dps, hunter with a focus on dps (and no traps) , no monk. I feel like running through the game in a dedicated party is going to be way faster, especially because of how auras work.

i might play like 60 hours in the first 3 days but at the same time I'd like to enjoy the story the first time, probably no race for me.

at the very least I'll do my first character through normal at a snails pace, soak up all the lore. only get to do it once really

I went pretty damn slow in the beta, and I'm planning on using the same pace to complete normal. I might speed things up for nightmare/hell though.

most likely, my first character, i'll try to enjoy the new content while it's new. once i get a character up, i'll probably do like past games and rush characters thru. i'll definitely want to do groups though, and will probably end up doing softcore first and after i get used to the mechanics and the content, give hardcore the ol college try.

I don't play WoW anymore, but I think the same thing can be achieved by pre-purchasing here, which would allow one to download D3 beforehand and play at midnight. As much as I do want to play ASAP, I'm not sure it's worth buying the game twice to do so. Thank you for the suggestion, though.
