I can't believe people will be buying this, such a mediocre game and not improved at all for such a long time and they try to pull this off, just mindblowing.

Recall that they recently added the ability to convert World of Warcraft gold into Blizzard bucks.

There are plenty of people like me who weren't willing to risk selling their gold via unsupported RL transactions, but have the equivalent of thousands of dollars sitting idle in a WoW account.

I purchased all the cash-shop items for Starcraft, and even gifted a couple copies of D3 to my kids and some of their friends. I don't play D3, but I'm sure I'll wind up gifting some necromancers if it's possible.

They'd be leaving a lot of money on the table if they just gave this thing out for free. Shareholders don't like that sort of thing.

Edit: However, $15 is pretty steep. I just saw that. This is a $9.99 thing, MAX. But then again, people pay $25 for shiny pony cosmetics in WoW, so who am I to judge?

I bought/used about 50 tokens at 60k. I probably should've maxed out all my kids' bnet accounts at the time as well. I knew the price would only go up.

I still have ~10M gold to work with, but nothing I want to buy with it. Hearthstone just pisses me off, and Dota2 > HOTS.

I didn't realize you could gift games across accounts on battle.net. I know you can on steam, just didn't realize bliss had the same functionality.

New Season start's today with the Necro. 8pm Eastern. I know for me if I decided to do it, it'll be to play necro and hold me over until August 4th.

I wasn't going to care about this season, or the necro, at all...but then my SSF character died last night @ lvl 82.

I would normally ignore the necro, and just play something like wizard or wd, but they're clearly pushing the power of the necro to entice people to buy it, so that's what I'm going to play for the next week or two.

I was going to skip the Necro pack, since I haven't played since season 6. But who am I kidding--I always buy Blizzard games, even if I don't play it for a while. I bought Diablo 3 when it was released and never played it. Then I bought RoS, and didn't play it until season 4. I bought Overwatch in May and didn't even play it until December.

Necro is extremely squishy. I'm dying really easy and I'm not even far into the game. Guess I just have to learn a new playstyle, since my last two characters were a barbarian and a crusader. Will probably just see if I can get power leveled to 70 tonight and test it around a bit before deciding whether I want to main a DH or a Necro this season.

Did anyone here nerdrage really hard over the bug with the new update? I don't play, but I've been getting daily vent sessions from a guy I work with.

Got both a DH and a necro power leveled to 70 and have all but one quest done for the first season journey set. Leaning towards DH. I think I just prefer the higher mobility DH character. But I think I'll play a few more days with both to decide which one to go with.

AFAIK, once you get a set with one class, you're stuck, so I don't want to regret the decision. Please correct if I am wrong.

not exactly "stuck", you can still get geared up in the traditional manner perfectly well - but yes the season journey chests only unlock on the first character to do them. I am not totally sure, but I don't think it "locks you in" - you can get first two pieces on DH, next two on Necro I think? But then you wouldn't end up with a full 6pc set of course.

Gearing is pretty fast either way, so unless you play hardcore it doesn't matter much.

For what it's worth, there's a speed clearing necro build using the 'inarius' set that moves fast and can clear rifts quickly. With my current gem levels, I think I can clear t10 in under 3 minutes consistently, and I'm hoping to push that to higher torment levels with more mainstat & gem levels (mainly pain enhancer & efficacious).

I cleared a 70 with the necro pretty quickly/easily with its free set, and after that I've had two primal weapons drop -- thunderfury and the tragoul 1h necro weapon, which is of course amazing luck.

Anyone got any good build tips for dual necro couch co-op playing? It seems like we use each others corpses on couch co-op, so 2 builds that uses corpses don't seem ideal.

I'm not exactly sure how the console works, but on PC necros each get their own corpses, and it's impossible to consume someone else's. Try having one of you do corpse explosion as much as possible and see if there are some left over.
