I can't even get in, think they're taking down servers to fix the DC issue.

I wasn't too impressed with the crucible tbh. Hopefully they concentrate on the main game which is awesome.

They've been patching and then crashing it all day. Amusing.

I tried using the Sahara-AR3 as a few people spoke highly of it here, think I prefer the stability with the Shingen-C Tho.

Yeah, it's over x360, confirmed.

I did all the missions+some pvp as a hunter, enjoyed it thoroughly. I did everything on the hard setting solo, except the big tank mission, 2 man'd. I felt like the missions on hard were pretty much your standard halo legendary difficulty, maybe a notch below halo 2 leggy difficulty. Sniper+Scout+HMG worked best for me. That's my play-style though. I sniped so many people out of pikes/the little tanks in PVP. There are a lot of good sniping spots on the MP maps, many nooks and crannies you can get up to. I really like the sniping in this game in general, no crosshair sway, and the headshot hit boxes are massive so I was pulling off sweet twitch head-shots at any range. Also got a nice golden gun triple kill on 3 enemies all capturing a flag.

100% buying this game.

The Cydonia AR3 with slow down rof / increased damage is actually pretty awesome for PVE, though I still generally run the Jikogu SR3 then switch to a Shengen-E for Sepkis when grinding the strike.

Agree on the GOATish, really looking forward to 9/9 now
Also explored moon for about an hour yesterday. Really awesome stuff.

I got ****ed in the face by a few soldiers down below in the tunnels that had ??? over them. Turned the wrong corner in the dark and boom, mollywhopped. It's nice to see that right out of the gates on the very first mission, that sort of replayability is waiting in the recesses of such a grandiose and beautiful world. 100% sold on this game...time off requested to virgin it up.

I'm definitely sold on it. Have they indicated just how large the universe will be in relation to the beta? Did we just see 5%? 10%?

I'd be curious to see its size in comparison to Borderlands 2.

The only official comment that I know of was that the Alpha was an off the cuff "less than 10%", the beta was a little larger than the Alpha... It's hard to define "size". Alpha had one story mission (the wizard), Old Russia "explore" (with origin area outside the wall unlocked), the Strike, (both with a third difficulty level "legendary" IIRC?), and the PVP control gametype on 2 maps. I believe all guns and armor etc remained unchanged. We got 4 more story missions I think in the Beta, and two more PVP maps + Iron banner.

There was "a leak" doing the rounds yesterday resulting from a datamining of destinydb, now deleted a follow up posted here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGa...tory_missions/

Oh, hello.

Destiny's pretty big. It's the biggest game we've ever made, by far, and we're sort of known for making games you can play for months, years, and even decades if you're a little bit...dedicated.

With Destiny, we're looking to exceed what we've done before, not just in terms of scale - the Moon is our smallest destination - but in terms of scope and breadth of activities. That's true for day one, as you expect, but it also means we want Destiny to have super long legs.

If we're fortunate enough to have you playing months after launch, you still find lots of compelling stuff to do. That will manifest itself in a myriad of ways, from straight up content to cool activities we've yet to show off.

We think we did a decent job supporting Halo, post launch, but we were only ever able to cater to the competitive set. That left a lot of players out in the cold. That made a lot of the team grumpy. We wanted to do better. So, Destiny is philosophically built support every type of player, and all modes with ongoing activities and events. We look at it quite a bit like television programming, as opposed to a singular film, as we had in the past. We think it's gonna be pretty great, but we wanted to test out a bunch of our new stuff with Beta, to make sure we could flip knobs and levers live, reacting and responding with lots (and, ho boy, did we see LOTS) of players online and playing.

Beta was water wings. Level 8 is nothing. You barely scratched the surface, and it seems like some folks had fun with what was there.

If you did, good news. More soon.

Played the 360 beta. Broke down and bought a PS4 this week. Will get this on launch day. Will everyone who picks it up in the first few days get the Vanguard whateva bonus stuff Halo-style iyo?

I think you have to pre-order to get that.

Game is super elite.

Played the demo a bit. I'm pretty sure I'm not good at these kinds of games, but this felt awfully difficult. To be super basic, it just felt like it took way too damn long to kill things. Only played as a Hunter, so maybe another class would be different.

I enjoyed it, and will probably buy it (although part of that is just the lack of titles for the xbone). While I'm not 100% sure it's for me (I tend to like more RPGy stuff), it sure seems like it's great at being what it tries to be.

I think they're working on the PvE balance a little bit but I guess I'd say, by way of trying to be helpful:

1. The enemies with shields take forever to drop their shields if your weapon isn't an energy or "elemental" weapon of some kind.

2. This game puts a Counter-Strikeish premium on headshots, so basically you should always always always be seeing yellow damage indications. Body shots are useless.

3. If you're even 2 levels under-leveled you're WAY under-leveled in terms of damage output AND defense to damage. The game is apparently only going to have 20 levels so expect a 6 and an 8 to be enormously different. I know that when I was underleveled for stuff it was really hard to kill stuff (like as a 5 killing the 8s and 9s in that nightfall battle between the Fallen and the Hive, basically just a guaranteed deathtrap).

4. There's a balance in some respect between stuff that rushes you and stuff that blasts you. The acolytes who rush you die almost instantly to headshots, the ranged guys take a little while.

5. That devil thing just takes forever to kill. I think all the strike bosses will be like that. That's an MMORPG holdover and it's meant to up the tension. I agree that it does get a little tedious but that's just my taste / opinion.

6. In PvP, headshots and anticipation are key. Deaths come quick in PvP.

7. It's not just your level, but your weapons' levels that matter. You need to move to higher level weapons in parallel with your character or you're just gonna be really weak.

CLIFFS: Headshots, weapons with elemental icons next to their attack, profit.

This kind of worries me. Other than a couple of games on the Wii over the last 2yrs I haven't played any consoles since right before the PS3 came out.

It sucks getting old. The games/systems are getting to be like what I wanted when I was a teenager. Watchdogs and Assassins Creed 4 are already giving me enough problems. Maybe I should look for some easier games to ease my way back into consoles.

Anyone know any kind of easyish(is that even a word?) game that has decent replay value and is actually fun to play for a PS4?
