I guess that answers the question on IF I am going to get the game. If the controls are just as fluent as the first game it is going to be really good I have a feeling.

Am all in, prob PS4 and PC.

Am also somewhat of the mind that this is more like Destiny 1.0: Full Reset (even the story, and the game modes, and basic functionality, because what we shipped was both really fun and completely broken and we know it). I liked it when Luke Smith called 50% of level cap players completing any raid a "miracle." That was quite honest.

I agree, it's a do over, what will be interesting is how much of the existing sub-class abilities remain. Clans look really interesting and it doesn't look like they screwed up the gun play, will wait for some of the you tubers to post their play testing. Also sounds like they added a bunch of mini-games to break up the grind and bigger maps as well. Really looking forward to this.

Did they mention anything about the vault? I didn't see it if they did.

Hopefully beta comes out fairly soon this summer. The in game matchmaking with the clans will be interesting to see how that goes. It could be no different then using the LFG except they are taking out the middle man so to speak. Hopefully it works well.

Also the 30 fps knock on wood will be ok for console...I thought they would bump it to 60 but I guess not...it may not be an issue.

Kind of a slow news day but I saw this thread and it got me thinking about the ammo synth. I can sort of see both sides of the argument but am wondering why they don't make it so you can program them to the D pad. You still have to wait 5 minutes to pop a second one. Is the only reason they don't so that your team has to help you survive in the loadout screen?

The Guided Games/Clan video was great. So happy it'll be easier to run Nightfalls and Raids now. I played with 4 great groups over the years (2+2, Soundcircuit, Reddit group and Jonny and his friends from here as well) but each group slowly stopped playing over time and I couldn't be bothered to do out of game LFG. Now I might play a little more even when friends aren't on. Something to look forward too.

Yeah, guided games was prob one of the best things in there. There's a little bit of doubt at the moment, based on screenshots / phrasing with people speculating it's only for normal modes, or only for solo / groups of 5, but I have no doubt even if the worst case turns out to be true Bungie can quickly expand the feature to cover all relevant scenarios. It would truly suck if you were 2 friends looking to raid, or a group of 4 and were unable to get 2 to join you or 1 random twice.

Yesterday's BWU made it sound like the servers are more dedicated than they were last time (while still remaining hybrid), so that's potentially very nice too.

Anyone here play FPS on PC over a console? I was just curious to see how big of a learning curve it is. I would think it would be extremely difficult in a game like this where you are so used to a game controller to switch. I'll probably play this on the PS4, just curious on your guy's experience if you have tried shooting games on PC.

D2 dev said you can use a controller on PC with no issues. Aim assist will be available on PC for controllers (can toggle it on/off if you desire).

So looks like anybody looking to make the switch from console to PC won't have to worry about being terrible with a mouse and keyboard.

Two of my friends just got Destiny collection and I'm picking it up so I can play with them. They made a hunter and warlock, I'm assuming I should make a titan? Or does it not matter?

I'd try all 3 until you decide the Hunter is the best out of all them...

Due to having a little one now I will be cutting down to 1 character to save hundreds of hours of grinding lol.

I noticed in one article that they have multiple landing zones on each planet which will be nice, especially for if you start an area and don't have a sparrow to take you clear across the map to where you need to go.

A buddy of mine brought up an interesting point on this article that possibly seems to have a line contradict the rest of the article.

The line is "With cooldowns tied to gear instead of specs, you'll be able to make more choices in how you outfit your character rather than being forced to pick up the talents that reduce cooldowns"

It mentioned the new stats being tied to the gear...are the cooldowns as well I wonder, or maybe they are now part of perks in the gear which is separate from the stat aspect.

Does that mean special attacks with timed cool Downs? 1 super rocket every 15 minutes wouldn't suck as long as the timer counted down while it wasn't equipped.

Anyone with the Sony VR know what good the vr is for regular games? Just a lower Rez screen in your goggles?
Destiny 2 (and the original) Quote
06-13-2017 , 03:32 PM
Basically yes. Two settings, Huge virtual screen you can almost fit in your field of view but have to look around a little, and "medium" which is I guess like an 60" screen at about 6 foot distance. There is also "small", which locks in the center of view and moves with you as you turn head.

It's noticeably lower res than a real 1080p screen, but it's very nice and bright and colourful because of the oled.

Other thing is does is allow you to enable "3d positional audio" (same as what the platinum headset does) in compatible games. There aren't many of these I think. Uncharted 4, Horizon ZD. Not sure if any others! All VR games are 3d positional audio though and it's incredible.

I certainly wouldn't recommend buying one instead of a TV, but it's a workable alternative if you had to use it.

The reviews of the Star Trek bridge simulator have me really anxious to go VR but I'm looking for reasons to wait... Does it need the upgraded PS4?

It does not need the Pro, works fine on the standard PS4 - graphics are improved with the Pro of course, and graphics are nice to have in VR. Star Trek Bridge Crew is incredible, fwiw
