Looks like nothing much has changed, it's even more ******ed in the current Iron Banner to run solo. Most of the time you get teamed up with clueless folks that can't even protect the spark or rift, making it incredibly harder on top of the crap meta. Playing without expectations, not having fun at all ... to get some random weapons I may never use.
Got all three characters up to rank five without trouble and a few drops were okay. Obviously the very last bounty dropped my most hated gun (Clever Dragon), so now I have to see what the fuzz is about on a semi-ish roll.
Won't be able to grind for more gear etc, as I leave tomorrow. Gonna miss first week of SRL also because of EPT Prague. Ah well.
The return of the Power Rangers aka SRL. It's nice that you now get all possible gear on high light level and not just two specific types like last year iirc.
Anyone still play? I think I might have finally hit the spot where I can put this down for a bit. 400 on all 3 toons and almost every single weapon/exotic/armor I have is up to 400. Still haven't completed the raid, but since both raiding groups I played with stopped playing I don't feel too bad. The idea of LFGing a raid group doesn't interest me much.
Hoping for a big April drop where the raids are brought forward, maybe LL415 and some new Exotics and a Strike or two. We shall see.
Basically gave up after a frustrating few weeks failing to get 6 together to run the new raid. Went back to Overwatch / Left it too late to have a hope of blind-run from LFG, and no real interest in going though it just for the sake of doing so with people who have run it 100 times already. Most of the enjoyment for me is in the discovery and attempts to refine strategy.
With no future content on the horizon no pressing need to gear up.
May attempt to solo Crota at some point for the platinum trophy, if I get bored of everything else.
Eagerly await news of Destiny 2. At a guess it'll be an E3 gameplay reveal (Sony conference) for September launch, won't be amused if they delay it again.
Most people think D2 is coming this fall, I just can't see it. We haven't seen a leak, heard a peep or anything. I think 2018 is more likely, but I'd be ecstatic to be wrong.
I still play almost daily, but the game is stale and PvP especially needed a new meta/weapons update a looooong time ago. Bungie needs to keep PvP fresh to keep up the player base during PVE content droughts. How they didn't have a weapons/class tuning update included with the Dawning was a huge letdown.
Anyway, the key date for any possible D2 info is February 9th. Activision/Blizzard has its 2016 Earning Report with its investors and its 2017 Outlook. Two years ago during this earnings report is when they announced plans for The Taken King, and last year was when we learned of the April Update and an expansion for the fall (Rise of Iron). Bungie under gag order/Non-Disclosure Agreements until Activision releases this info to its investors.
So I'd expect some sort of official acknowledgement of a sequel/D2 on Feb 9th and then more info at E3.
It sounds like we'll be getting the PVP balance before the bigger update, so maybe next month. It will be nice to be killed by something besides Clever Dragon for once.
Live events are picking up again so I will be traveling a fair bit. Didn't keep me from pre-ordering the new Mass Effect though. Destiny just doesn't really provide much reason to play atm and I am not one of the "must be max light with everything" kind of guy.
I'm digging it.
I love not dying to only shotgun rushers and snipers with skills far beyond my ken. I hadn't played much the 2 months prior to this patch, so IDK what it was like, but suddenly my full-auto Aegis Of The Reef and Hopscotch Pilgrim are even better! I'd been using them for a year when they were only decent, so it's nice that they're awesome now.
Before this meta, I don't think I had ever fired a sidearm in anger, now I use them all the time, and it's fun to use new guns, imo.
I still don't like the new meta, and have to get used on how to handle sidearms. Mida used to be my go to weapon for Crucible, but that doesn't stand much of a chance now on most maps. Hopscotch with a decent roll though ...
As much as I'd love to play Destiny more again, my schedule of live events is killing that very quickly lol. Macau in a few days, then Monte Carlo end of April followed by back-to-back-to-back from May to July including full WSOP in Vegas.
