Are you on PS3 or PS4? PS3 doesn't need PS+ to play Destiny multiplayer.

I just thought it was interesting. I didn't read anything on here prior to starting the game...leveled up to like 9ish and then did that first strike mission. They paired me up with 2 people and we went through and beat the level. I'm in Venus now and the next one from the last planet hasn't opened up yet (I think level 12 is required for the second crucible)...so I can check to see if it allows me again on the next one.

I was just curious if anyone else has had this happen.

i bought 2 of my purples, got 1 from an engram and 1 from queen's mission.

just keep grinding vanguard or crucible rep and buy purples when you hit rank 2/3

I've only found 1 purple engram (Loot Cave 4life). Luckily it actually decoded into a purple item.



I tried soloing a queen's mission but then got 2-shot by the trash and said lol nope.

The second crucible is unlocked when you do the first one. I did it as level 2 last night.

Also, crushing 27-29 players as a single digit crucible player is confirmed awesome.

Maybe I am wording it wrong. I mean the strike. Devils lair was the first one I did and beat with 2 other players even though I don't have playstation plus. After I beat it last night the second strike mission was locked saying requirements not met.

I have no idea what playstation plus is, sounds lame.

Summary:
With this patch, we address some widely-discussed concerns with how Engrams are earned and claimed. Strikes have become more rewarding, and the rewards gained from them are more predictable. Also affected is the rotation of maps that appear in the Crucible.

Cryptarch
Legendary (purple) engrams will always produce a Legendary quality item or higher
Note: Legendary engrams that exist in your inventory will change to Rare quality items when the patch is applied. However, decoding these engrams will still produce the same results as before
Rare (blue) engrams will always produce a Rare quality item or higher
Chance for Legendary gear increased
Materials: Ascendant Shards and Ascendant Energy promoted to Legendary quality (from Rare quality)

Rewards
Rare (Blue) and Legendary (Purple) Engram drops added to the potential rewards for:
Vanguard: Tiger Strike Playlist
Daily Heroic Missions (first time per day)
Weekly Heroic Missions (first time per week)
Known issues
When selecting a higher difficulty for daily missions, XP Bonus not show in the reward display
You will still get the XP bonus, you just won't see it in the UI

Crucible
Reduced time limit on Bastion and First Light in Control and Clash from 15 to 12 minutes, bringing them in line with non-vehicle maps in those playlists
Lowered weighting on Bastion and First Light in Control and Clash so they appear less often in those playlists

i was hoping that this patch would bring the ability to opt in voice communicate with randoms

didn't see anything about weapon nerfs

just seems like they changed the rare/legendary engram thing and not much else? hmmmm


the crucible map rotation/time change is a surprise to me and very welcome

I'm almost level 23 and I've only gotten 1 purple item(Hunter's Cloak) and I still get a **** load of green. I pretty much only play strikes and bounties. My char's decked out in all blue finally so I'm hoping the purple starts dropping soon.

Keep grinding and you'll start getting the good stuff.

They need to make it so rep is shared by all your characters.

Right now it is just amazing you get level to 20 and then swap all your gear on and raid multiple times on one account.

My plan once I get to ps4 is to have 3 wizards to run the raid 3x/week and get all the gears.
