yeah its in 1-1, but you can kill him in 1-2 as well. 1-2 is easier imo. Just go on top of the first tower and shoot him 100 times or so when he swoops down to blow fire on the path. He won't even hit you once.
Yeah, but if you kill him in 1-2, he's gone for good so you can waltz back into 1-1 and pick up the goodies over there. There's a nice shield and ring. I tried getting the one item closests to the purp dragon but he tail smashed me, not sure what the item is or if you can even kill him.
there are 2 rings. I assume you got the Flame Resistance ring, but there is also a Great Str ring
You can't get into 1-3 clearing 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, and 2-2. At least you can't in mine. It says "only those who have slain an arch demon may go beyond this point". I was figuring the 2-2 boss was one, but not so. Help?

Archdemons are the last bosses on each stage, so 2-3, 3-3, etc.
so you have to kill an arch demon from 2 or 3 before proceeding to 1-3?
That's the way it looks like to me because I'm having no troubles getting into to 2-3 [which is a boss fight only, btw] -- but still can't get into 1-3.
So the Demon soul you get for killing the dragon apparently has no use. So by killing the dragon you get 8K for the kill+10K for the Soul +2x800 for the Renowned Soldiers Souls in the nest area. for roughly 20K Souls which is a TON at the early level.
You get the ring under the blue dragon before he kills you but it just increases you burden just like the ring you get from the storage guy so there is no point.
Just wondering, is all the loot in this game unique and in fixed locations? Part of the fun of RPGs for me is getting some awesome random drop, or grinding through mobs to find that one rare weapon. This game seems more like a static flowchart: ie step 1) get weapon x at location y, step 2) get armor w at location z...
Based on what I've seen thus far, killing unique creatures/demons gives you the unique loot, or accessing certain locations. 2-1 has a few "hidden loot" places. There is a unique armor set in 1-1, but its only accesable at certain times I think.
