Demon Souls Upcoming Action/RPG - Page 3 - Video Games

Right... you dump points into your stats as you collect currency (demon's souls). The only downside is that you start at soul level 1 as a royalty, but the immense frustration you will be saving yourself is more than worth the extra time you will need to spend farming. The ring you get is really nice... wish I started my first guy as royalty.

soul level 1 is your "XP" level, right? Whats the major downside to that? Also, does the royalty class not suffer from the lower viatlity, strength, and endurance early on?

How far along in the game are you? I wonder if end game stuff is affected by these early choices.

Also what was your first characters class?

You need to buy one from a guy in the Nexus. He'll be on the other side of the stairs from the stockpile dude. You'll also need to memorize the spell and have a wooden catalyst equipped to cast the spell.

briefly played yesterday, had to run out for the night. but it was definitely fun. I like the battles. Of course I died probably 1/4 of the way through 1-1 because I rolled off a cliff lol

have you not beat him yet?

Hint: use firebombs on the mobs and put terpintine on your weapon, its tears them up.

Just run around working on the mobs for a minute or to, after you kill like 20 or so, the boss is cake.

by the way, the whole "zomg no save thing" is sort of overblown imo. Yeah it sucks at times, but it looks like you get to unlock some shortcuts which allow you to skip over certain sections if you want. Plus you can go back to the starting area of each level and go back to the nexus if you want. You still have to kill the same guys over again, but its not that horrible. Running all the way back to your body kind of sucks though, especially if you died in a crappy area.

Also, has anyone gotten pwned by the pack of dogs in the 1-2?

As for good advice, someone else already said it, but on the off chance anyone is skipping to the last comment: START AS ROYALTY!!!

Cannot be overstated. Played for 2 days as a Hunter, played for 2 hours as Royalty. Same point in the game. Clearly knowing what to do helped, but so did not dying.

so I have concluded I am just gonna kill the dragon on 1-2, that should solve most of my problems. I guess it takes about 20 mins of constantly shooting it with arrows (need around 100+). Blue knight is going down imo!

FYI on boss 1-2, ranged attack ftw. Just bow him down from up top. Make sure you avoid the flaming spear ldo. Probably want to show up to the fight with 100 arrows just to be safe. Also, i strongly recommend killing the dragon when you get on top of tower one. You kill him and he's gone for the rest of the game. makes it way easier to do this level w/o having to worry about him. Plus you get tons of souls for it. Takes around 100 arrows to kill him.

Getting to the boss on 2-2 was the most tilting for me thus far.

There is a massive short cut one direction and the majority of the level to the left. I fought through the left side to get to the boss only to die. No big deal, I'll just take the shortcut back and get the 30,000 souls I'd earned.

One falling death later, I puke.

btw, in 1-1, after you've beaten 1-2, a passage way opens up near the beginning of the level. Fight your way through until you get to a mini boss. Tough fight, but once its done, make your way down a ladder for some sick armor. I am wearing it right now other than the helmet due to equip burden, but its better than what you start with.

Man, i seriously just bumbled through 2-1. Died really early, then on the second run through didn't die once. I either own at this game, am currently overpowered, or got lucky.
