I havent heard much about this but its being released soon and looks like the sleeper hit of 2009.

All the reviews and previews are saying its a amazing game and judging by the trailers looks like its goin be sick ..

So many good games coming out soon, Fallout 3 with 5 DLCs, Dragon Age Origins, ..COD modern warfare 2 ..

I loved the King's Field games on PS1 and this is supposed to be the spiritual successor to those games from From Software. Looking forward to it.

Picked this up yesterday and played the first half hour. You gonna die. Repeatedly.

Yeah this is a pretty challenging game... with no save feature and no pause. Definitely not the type of game that you would want to be playing with poker. Great game though, as long as you are not easily frustrated. Pretty much just have to make sure that you are taking your time through each area, dodging all traps, and taking on each unit the correct way. **Do not play before a long session of poker, as it may induce tilt. Be warned!**

Played a lot more of this today. It's turning out to be a lot of fun.

Went to my cousin's house and played for about 45 minutes - it is a game I would easily get addicted to so I am glad I don't have a PS3. I was like...this isn't too bad, and then a red-faced knight one-hit killed me and I was like, "Oh, ok"

This looks sick. Between this, Uncharted 2, and MLB the show I'm really wishing I had gone with a PS3.

Just stopping by to say if you own a PS3 and don't own this game, you fail.

It seems I have cleared out all the area of Boletarian Palace besides the place where it says "you need a soul level of 20 to go beyond this point" or whatever. Super noob question, how do I upgrade my soul level? Anyone have a good link for starting tips? If anyone thinks this should be in spoilers lmk.

ive only seen a bit of gameplay, but whats so special about this game? all i saw was some 3 hit combos over and over again, and the occasional shield block

I'm not even into in yet. The gameplay is kind of that way so far, but I can tell it's going to be way more complex than that.

Does this follow the Ninja Gaiden/Devil May Cry formula of gameplay?

Talk to the chick in the black dress in the Nexus to increase your stats. And Gamefaqs ftw ldo.

The combo attacks aren't near as fluid and can be more easily countered by enemies than in the two games you mentioned (I don't mean this in a bad way, at all). I'm having a really hard time trying to find something to compare this game to, which is a good thing I think.

If you don't like dying, don't get this game. I have yet to get anywhere really (I think), but have died probably at least 15 times. Between this and Uncharted 2, I may not be in public for months. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to play, they're both so good.

Edit: the most accurate comparisons I have seen in my limited gameplay are probably to the King's Field series. I loved those too, fwiw, so I may be slightly biased towards this game.

I've never actually played either of those games, I was asking more about the overall style - is it running around hacking and slashing everything in sight?

In a way yes, but the RPG elements and the fact that when you die you really don't replenish anything make it a very unique gameplay experience to the others you mentioned. I'm still not far, but the RPG side of this game is going to be very heavy from what I can tell - while maintaining an action-game style of gameplay.

I guess I am epic failure at this game. I can't seem to find her? On GameFAQs it says something about beating Phalanx. Ugh, this game is too awesome to be this confusing.

This is mario meets oblivion meets 1000x more fluid combat system meets diablo. Have the game, most rewarding thing I have played in a while; it's so satisfying and freeform yet never easy.

This game has a lot of really high scores listed on metacritic though, wow I suppose this is worth getting as my first PS3 game.....

Man, I'm tempted to get this but I'm not that good at those types of games in the first place, I will be failing all over the place

FINALLY BEAT 1-1! This game is seriously ****ing incredible. I've put in about 14 hours between this and Uncharted 2 in the last 24, and I don't regret a second of it, as sad as it sounds.

On another note, I can't get over how many people die in The Nexus. Are they like five or something? Like hey there's a cliff I'm going to jump off it.
