Spoiler:
Hmm, I must have got super lucky, got past it first time. Shield up on approach and wasn't a problem getting to them, then just made sure to hug the wall the whole time and weren't too bad to dispatch. They didn't both attack together - as I was fighting the one on the right, the one on the left just waited for me, did I get a lucky glitch maybe?

Now getting there with a no shield run seems just awful, not sure how to approach...

The worst part of SENS for me was I went up, got to the second white light, and walked backwards. Got the lightning spear and serpent ring, went up that little elevator one floor, went to go back on it and fell down and died. I need to see what's higher up! And i have to figure out how to get rid of those boulders for the "secret passage". Gahh

I will get past it today. I hope.

haha you bros talking about the knight archers in anor londo? that part absolutely annihilated me several times when i first played the game...

protips:

Spoiler:
the one on the left you can lure into falling off the edge pretty much every time. but deal with the one on the right first imo.

get out of the left sniper's range then just do your best to parry or hack him into oblivion...

IT WAS SPIKES. YOU GUYS COULDNT TELL ME IT WAS SPIKES ABOVE THAT LEVEL?!?

Beat the Iron Golem, he wasn't too hard. Explained Anor Londo a bit, seems to be a dead end. Think I'm going to go back, maybe go through the graveyard.

Found a crystal halberd in Anor Londo, it seems more powerful than the lightning spear. Get better benefits from strength/dex as well. Wonder when both are upgraded what the difference is.

Crystal weapons are very powerful. But they have low durability and can't be repaired.

Killed the Capra demon it wasn't hard at all once I knew what to do.
Have started to explore The depths and keep getting killed by the same bug eyed enemies. They have cursed me and now I don't know what to do. At 3000 souls for an item to remove the curse I cant keep doing that but If I try to fight them while cursed they kill me pretty quick.
I might go into Old Londo now I can hit ghosts but they seem quite hard as well.

Watched the IGN breakdown of the new Dark Souls 2 trailer, they had some interesting speculation on the plot of the next game:

Spoiler:
They predicted that Dark Souls 2 will be a prequel where you play as Gwyn. They also showed a still from the trailer where the player is crossing a bridge leading to a city, and showed it next to the Painted World of Ariamis, speculating that it was the same location.

I think the Gwyn idea could be very interesting, plus that would allow them to tie in lots of chars from DS1 (O&S, Havel etc.).

Wow just beat Queelaag on my 2nd try. Wasn't that hard. I have a mainly strength build so I put on some stone armor, which absorbed a lot of her fire damage, and took her down. Not sure what to do next, if there's anything else to do before heading to That fortress that just opened up from ringing the 2nd bell

funny, when I saw the trailer, and saw the long bridge leading to the city, I was thinking that it had a very similar look to the Painted World, but I didn't think that it might actually be the same location as the Painted World, I'm starting to really like where they are going with this game

Killed the Gaping dragon at the second attempt. Very pleased with that because as soon as I saw it I thought this will take forever.

Blight town seems tough I'm wishing I had better poison resistance now.

The poison wasn't that big a deal for me. I always got poisoned, and actually killed the boss while still poisoned. Toxic is an issue, but the guys who make you toxic are permanently killed when you kill them, so eventually it's not a problem.

It's a problem when you brought down two blooming purple flowers and run out of them.

Blight town was hell for me.

Currently stuck on Sir Gray. Took my original weapon (Mace) that I had made a +5 early on. Made it +10 because hitting him with the Lightning Spear was pretty tough. Do some decent damage to him, but still tough. I think I have it all figured out as well, just having trouble getting enough damage onto him before he kills me

EDIT: oh, and i hate those mushrooms. I swear I will kill one....

Uhhh, someone explain to me what just happened. After ringing the 2nd bell, I kept going down. I picked up some armor set and this big red thing with tentacles started chasing me. I ran away, got caught by the white mist door, turned around, hit his leg 3 times, and he died. Please explain.

That's a legitimate way to kill him. When he gets back to the mist door, he hangs on the ledge with his arms and if you hit him a couple of times, he loses his grip and falls into an abyss.

I don't think it matters how much damage you do to the arm. You can punch him with your fist and he'll still lose his grip.

We were too busy giggling. But c'mon. The platform is covered in blood. And you can see the spikes if you binoculars up.

I've only been cursed once but that was enough for me.

I really wish covenants offered something cool in the single player and weren't just for PvP.

I've never done any PvP stuff at all and I've never really had a desire to search for all the covenants after reading that they basically all just apply to PvP.

Sunbros definitely has an advantage to single player faith builds. Chaos servant has advantages too, especially for pyromancers.

Edit: Now that i'm thinking about it, chaos servant might be the only useful single player covenant.

You need to join sunbros to get lightning spear. Otherwise your faith build has few offensive options.

I've only been cursed once but that was enough for me.

Do you know how many times I tried clicking the blood to see how people died?

The weapon lightning spear? I'm still Way of the White and I was able to get it.

Still getting my ass handed to me by Sif. I'm pretty sure I have the strategy down, just get hit too many times

one thing i still don't understand:

you have 5 estus flasks (10 if you use fire keeper soul when you can)

every now and then though, when i'm just walking around, a noise will play and i'll be added an estus flask. why?
Dark Souls (Demon's Souls 2) Quote

1) You get an extra estus flask if somebody near you kindles a bonfire. Being in Way of White makes this more frequent in my experience.

2) You get 5 estus flasks standard for resting at a bonfire. If you rest at a bonfire you have already kindled you get 10. Bonfires with firekeepers (like firelink shrine) are already kindled to 10 flasks. Later in the game bonfires will be able to be kindled further.

3) You take fire keeper souls to other fire keepers to reinforce your estus flask. This makes every swig more powerful (get more HP back)

I'm watching a playthrough on youtube by a guy named Maximusblack. It's great. The guy is doing a total no-guide playthrough. He's in blightown right now. He hasn't read an item description yet. Hasn't really spoken to an NPC. He's amazingly frustrating to watch but impossible not to pull for as he's so likable. He got all the way past the Capra before he learned how to block properly. He realized he needed more blooming purple flowers for blightown so he journied back to darkroot garden. And then didn't pillage any of the bodies of guys he killed.

He has the divine ember and the large ember. He'll take his +5 longsword to Andre, ascend it to +6, then ascend it to divine, then descend it back to +5 (just moving right to left clicking on the lit up boxes) and then leave saying "There! That'll wreck face!!". He derp R1 spams every enemy he comes across except the craigspiders in blightown (the one enemy you need to derp R1 spam).

The guy is just brute forcing his way through the game doing everything the REALLY hard way. Still, the guy loves the game and is so genuinely happy when he overcomes something it's really fun to watch.

ETA: he's already beat the game, i'm watching him in blightown
