Yesterday I stopped in to buy a new microwave at Best Buy after ours crapped out. This is where I preordered DS3 so I figured I would ask if any of the video game guys have any "pull" and can let me pick up the game then vs Tuesday since I was 100% sure they got it in their stock over the weekend. The guy went back to check and all the pre order games were still taped together with most likely no sku assigned to them yet...pfffft. Oh well, 1 more day.
I'm trying to be as spoiler free as possible so I really don't care when I start playing. I really don't need to play at the very first moment the servers are available. I don't care if that's a day or two later.
Yea I'd agree with that - it's not anything internet-content-related that I meant will be brutal. It's just knowing the Dark Souls 3 is out and about and available and I'm just NOT playing it
Hasn't been a problem in previous DS threads but make sure you're spoiling specific gameplay/area related stuff for the first few weeks or so at least plz.
Beat the first boss. So far combat seems a lot more Bloodborne than Dark Souls 2, which I much prefer.
Tough early enemy:
Spoiler:
The crystal lizard got me to back down. It was doing half of my health with every attack that connected and I wasn't doing anything much to it. I'm guessing it's strong against slashing attacks, such as those from my sellsword twinblades. I'll go back once I've found some upgrade materials or a thrusting weapon.
First boss:
Spoiler:
The first phase was easy, standard Soulsborne humanoid boss combat. Stick close, wait for an attack, punish. Of course there was a transformation. After that it was pretty difficult to get a feel for his attacks, and I almost ran out of health before he did.
PC servers have been down all day too, but I don't really like all the soap stone spam anyways, my OCD makes me click every one. PC performance has been decent, not as smooth as DkS2, but mostly consistent 60 fps with all options maxed on a 970 and load times are short even from a HDD. Looks a lot like Bloodborne.

I killed it on my first try...barely, down to almost no health and no estus flasks left Probably helped that I picked knight and started off w/ decent equipment
Went Herald. Guy just looks like too awesome. And i liked his 2 sentence backstory.
Kept dying to what i assumed was a miniboss. Combat is very good and fair imo. There was a bonfire behind the miniboss. Miniboss guy respawned. Now sneaking around trying not to alert miniboss guy.
P.S. Miniboss guy has beautiful armor. Pretty game.
