This game is insane, pretty much everyone I know is insanely addicted to CoD and now thinks this game is better. Whether that opinion will stick idk but the gameplay and maps are just so awesome.

Melee getting an upgrade in strength by a bit would be nice though, I'm having a tough time remembering to not do it in some situations where it would be more effective in other games. I also can't seem to figure out the orbital beam, I feel like I'm using it just like I would in CoD and just never kill anyone ever even dropping the circle right on top of people.

The sniper killcam in this game is sick. It follows behind the bullet and slows down right before impact.

I'm not really much of an FPS guy, but I grabbed this game and started playing it a couple of days ago. I like the campaign so far.

This seems like one of those FPS games where it's near impossible to kill two people in a row. Every time I kill someone there's another mother****er creeping up cloaked on my red dot on his radar who gets the easy kill on me. I don't know if I'm just bad right now but I'm not liking this dynamic.

campaign is ok, and multiplayer is bleh. I mean the stealth thing is fun at first, but it isnt more then a gimmick. After a while it is just another polished shooter. Back to battlefield where you can atleast destroy everything lol.

Think you just have to get really used to the idea of constantly checking your six using nanovision.

After every time that I kill someone I instantly go back into cloak and make sure to check around me.

I've had times where I kill someone, cloak, reload, someone comes around the corner, kill them, cloak, then I'm out of energy, reloading takes forever, and don't have enough time to get more shots off when the next guy comes and then I die.

It's a slower game, compared to CoD. You have to think tactically and try to get behind people.

One thing I do is use my radar perk - whatever it's called - where it'll turn red. When I see red I just cloak and try to find them. Also, to reenergize I'll try to stay close to a wall so that I know I only have to watch myself in a couple directions and if I see the red bar fill up then I just go back into cloak until I know it's safe again.

Armour mode feels a bit useless in MP as you continue to lose health even if you've got it activated.

Armor mode makes it take longer to kill you. I don't have a lot of experience with this game, but I rarely ever use it just because it's not natural. I use my cloak a ton.

I wish I could play longer sessions. I just can't get myself to sit down and play.

I just played 2 matches. First match I went 3-1. I got in late and I was trying out the sniper, which seems like a 2-shot kill.

Next match I went 14-2 and was the best in the game.

I think Crysis 2 plays to my style more. I don't like to die so I sneak around and try to take people by surprise, which when I get in the flow of the game I do pretty well.

How long do people find a typical ranked deathmatch/team deathmatch game lasts? The ones I've played barely last for more than 5 minutes. They really need to raise the score limit.

Game is sick fun. Im so bad at getting headshots in multiplayer it seems. Anyone else also keep pressing melee when trying to fire? I also seem to be really good at blowing through clips when at point blank and not hitting the enemy. reaaalllly good at that actually.

Honestly not thrilled I bought this game. It has very solid FPS mechanics which rival that of recent COD titles, but (a) I don't really like the maps (b) it doesn't have many weapons to choose from, and some of them plain suck (c) the unlock system is buggy (d) their attachment system feels like it was ripped off from the COD series and doesn't bring anything new to the table (e) and the biggest killer, the multiplayer rounds are stupidly brief to the point where you can hardly get into the game before the round ends.

I'm only partway through campaign mode, and it's enjoyable and all so far, but I have to say this doesn't come close to the religious experience that playing Crysis 1 was for me.

The sheer breadth, beauty, and variety of the natural environments -- plus day and weather changes -- in the latter; and the way the whole alien thing kind of creeps up on you, building otherworldly suspense during the early levels; and just how wide open a lot of the levels were -- all of it blew me away.

Maybe this one will get more awesome, but so far I've felt pretty much like someone was pushing me down a series of fairly obvious tunnels from point A to B, with lateral spaces being offered as mere tokens. And the buildings and urban structures feel fake and like they're mostly there to restrict movement spatially. And there's boring rectilinearity everywhere, because we're in a built environment all the time. And there's a derivative Half Life 2 City 17 feel about the early levels, except not quite as effective and eerie as that game was.

I mean, I should shut up and finish the game first, but those are some impressions so far. And the emotional tone up till now is kind of off. Going around sniping faceless CELL dudes is kind of meh. They sound too normal and likeable when I catch their radio communications. They're all like, "Watch out, guys. He's in the area!", sounding like a bunch of twenty-year-olds in way over their heads; then I go in there and slaughter them and my heart's not in it. Maybe if their voices were more distorted, their outfits more storm-trooper like, or I witnessed them systematically harming civilians like all over the place?

Okay, I'll stop rambling. Jesus, I need a blog.

+1 and how about a destructable enviroment? I hope bf3 makes this the standard in new shooters. I take toned down graphics if i can shoot at least something. Everything just seems so stale. Shooting a brick wall with a rocket launcher without anything happening was ok a couple years ago, but shouldnt happen now imo.

Took me a while to get into the campaign but after a couple of hours i was enjoying it a lot more. I loved it by the end.

Yeah I'm having trouble getting into the campaign too, but I like the multiplayer, although I haven't been able to play because of the PSN problems.

The campaign just seems too slow. From as far as I am into the game you sneak around a lot with cloak, so it slows you down because you have to plan your next move so you don't run out of cloak while you're in sight of the enemy. And then when that happens you are suddenly getting shot from all different directions and don't really have time to figure out where it's coming from because you're flinching so badly from getting shot.

Yeah, I remember this happening to me often when I played Crysis 1, cause I was still figuring out how to balance between sneaking into an area superslow versus just rushing in and getting hammered. I'm much better at optimally infiltrating a new area and figuring out where the danger points are these days. But the thing is, Crysis 1 was so damn beautiful and the natural environment so immersive that I actually got a weird thrill from sneaking around cloaked for like ten minutes at a time through weeds, brush, cliffs, water, and all that stuff while a chopper crossed overhead and some North Korean outpost came into view, all of it beautifully lit by the setting sun ... sigh ...

The thing that annoys me is that the AI is too good at precisely locating where you are and shooting at you the very second you get spotted. A bad guy dies and it's like "ha he's on top of that building over there. The one that's nowhere near any of us"

Even if you use a silenced sniper rifle and a guy dies in their sight they insta-lock onto your location when in reality they'd need a few seconds to work out where the hell the shot might have been fired from. Then there are the times when you're somehow spotted despite being hid behind a truck or something.

Generally though the game is good fun. Not playe multi much just the odd game before the crash but seemed interesting.

What difficulty? I only played the campaign through on post-human warrior and the stuff you mention was quite frustrating. The moment you pop your head out of cover/uncloak a hail of bullets comes your way with incredible accuracy, even from enemies who are relatively far away. What I later realised is that you can avoid a LOT of combat by just stealthing. But I like shooting things.
