for people who were worried about being able to play this the PC specs are way off from what i was expecting...i'm running the demo almost maxed out and i have no where near a top end gaming rig

Looking forward to this. Crysis hit the balance between Unreal Tournament-like fast-paced action and CoD slow-paced realism really well imho. The nano-suit powers made both run-and-gun and stealthy approaches viable. It's certainly a much better single player game than Black Ops.

Seems like you have to open up the console to mess around with advanced graphics settings. Otherwise, there is only "gamer, advanced, hardcore" general settings available.

Not to get into a rant about this, since there are plenty available to read online, but this game is designed entirely for console players. pc gamers look elsewhere.

Trying to play the PC demo. But I keep getting a "server full" message. Even when the server's empty. Think it's Gamespy being rubbish.

although i agree, i, like every pc gamer out there, would strongly prefer the usual sliders in the graphic options, it is ridiculous how much weight is being put in the issue. I think a week after launch nobody really cares that much anymore and the game will be judged primarily on wether it's fun or not.

Yes, Crysis was PC-only, and yes, now it's gone multiplatform and obviously that means there will be changes that weren't necessary when it was just for pc. But to flame down any sign of that as a total sell-out is mob-mentality at its finest.

To say pc gamers should look elsewhere, why and where exactly? it just makes no sense whatsoever what you're saying. You haven't even played the frigging game yet?

ps. i, for one, am stoked about the upcoming release and reading all hands-on previews and the gamereaktor review, it seems i have every reason to be.

Anyone playing this? I've been watching some JTV streams throughout the day.

Has a Halo feel to it. Sound effects/music are pretty good. I read somewhere that the guy who did the Inception music worked on Crysis 2.

Given that it has that Halo feel, meaning, it takes longer to kill someone, it seems like it would tend to be a little more frustrating.

I'd kind of like to see the environments a little more brighter. Even the maps with sunlight are slightly dark.

But anyways, the game looks interesting enough to want to try it out. I don't think I want to buy it though.

it unlocks for me in 1 hour

anyway, it's the first game i'm going to play on the hardest difficulty right off the bat. I want to have to fight the tactical battle to progress in beautiful NY, since you can only see it for the first time only once.

As you may have guessed, i'm stoked about this tactical FPS. Fortunately, i don't feel like analysing what it doesn't bring to death like the religious folks of PC Gaming, so my soul is 100% receptive of what it does bring to the table. And that seems plenty by my standards

The game is pretty. Very pretty. But hope they'll patch in DX 11.

I'm right on the edge of buying this. I'm almost afraid to buy it for the PS3 because of the problems I've had with Black Ops. However, if I was to buy it for the 360 I'd have to pay a little extra to get XBL. I'm not sure which tradeoff I'm willing to accept.

I've been watching a few streams and the game looks so fun. Halo with COD weapons.

its fantastic, if youre thinking about buying, just do it.

I downloaded on steam, just finished the camp on hard and it was so much fun Im playing through again right away on hardest or w/e. There are lots of different ways you can come at most situations, giving you a lot of replayability. Although Id play through again just to get a second look (graphically it really is stunning).

Only thing is, getting multiplayer games has been kind of a pita. Lots of servers that just seem to not work... today one counted down from 250 to one then sat at one for another few minutes before I left to repeat in other rooms. Almost makes me long for xbl but not rly

the 360 version looks noticably better. Theres problems with certain lighting and shading and poor framerate issues on the ps3.

I'm really better off not buying it figuring that I barely play Black Ops anymore. I don't get that urge to turn my PS3 on to play a FPS anymore.

One thing that I don't understand is that some people say how much they don't like Crysis 2 and how it's really not that good of a game, but then they turn around and go play Homefront.

It's like they can't stand a game for how bad it is, but then they go play a game that is just as bad. That makes me believe that it's not about how "bad" the game is, but rather how easy it is to kill someone or how arcade like it is. Call of Duty is pretty much arcade-like. Everyone likes killstreaks.

I'm not going to get into a debate on COD vs. the others, but some people just don't make sense. When you ask them why they don't like a certain game that is obviously very good they can't give you a good answer.

Anyways...

Ah, well, I caved.

Ordered it for PS3 after watching a video by NextGenTactics. I had a $20 credit from when I preordered Black Ops so I basically got this game for $34.

I've been holding onto it for awhile, but looking forward in the short-term I don't really see any other games that I am looking forward to. Plus, I got an additional $10 future credit so I guess I could say I got this game for $24.

Should have it late next week.

Playing on post-human difficulty. Enemies are crazy-accurate and react instantly when they see you. It's forcing me to take quite a slow approach. Might be more fun to drop down the difficulty so I can run-and-gun more.
