How is multiplayer on 360 look. I can borrow this if only the campaign is good but if multiplayer looks good I might buy it.

how is matchmaking?

I have it on my pc, only played for 1-2hrs, graphics are very good. But the developers seem to have gone ott with "motion blur"
The game-play has drifted towards a COD style when it comes to shooting.
Im afraid that the game has gone the same direction as all the seqeuls in the last 6months.

I could be wrong because i haven't played that much, that being said, its sure to be a good contender this year.

I went out and bought it for the 360 last night. Multiplayer is fun. Only have an hour played. Has a big halo feel to the game and the shooting is definitely cod style.

I have a moderate nat type and was still able to get into a game quickly. played with 2 and 3 bar connection the whole time and didn't really notice any lag at all.

Graphics look a LOT better on PC.

That said, I had more fun playing it on XBox360... something about the PC interface just didn't sit well with me (very likely out of practice since I suck at FPS in general)

Got the game today. It was delivered to the post office late so it didn't come with the regular mail. I went down to the PO with 1 minute left before they closed and picked it up.

Will be back with my PS3 first impressions.

I already loved Far Cry and Crysis , but i think Crysis 2 takes the cake so far. Despite the lack of dx11 and hi-res textures PCgamers have been foaming tirelessly about, i actually think crysis 2 somehow is more 'beautiful'. I'm astounded at some of the sights you get to see in this game, and feel like a kiddie trappling to enter a candystore everytime i set foot a new arena. I did put the blur down with some downloadable config programs though, it was a bit excessive for my taste.

The gameplay so far is spectacular. I got my ass handed endlessly in the beginning, but now i'm switching in my suit while cruising effortlessly based on the mental map you make like some kind of superweapon...-man. It's awesome. The replay-value, something i usually have little interest in, must be great i think. I'm still on my 1st run, but am already itching to take the difficulty up and try some different approaches in certain areas.

As for my consumer-advice: if you like fps, and don't have some crazy religious affection with crysis 1 in the way that you wanted crysis 1 2.0 and nothing else, buy this game. It's an instant-classic imho, and the haters will be on the wrong side of history on this one

First time trying to get a game I got put into a game and ended up being the last kill. Was only in the game for about 10 seconds.

Second game, first full game, went 15-4 and was the best player in the entire match. I also got the game winning kill, which was awesome. It showed the kill cam and the last bullet it went into a "bullet-time" where you follow behind the bullet all the way to its destination. I had 2 5-kill streaks, getting the orbital strike.

Graphics are great.

Hit Detection seems really good. I shot a guy almost across the map with short bursts and didn't feel like any shots were missing. All shots up close felt like they were doing damage. I didn't feel like there were any discrepancies with my shots. It felt like they did exactly what I thought they were supposed to do.

Was on a 2bar and didn't feel like I was lagging at all.

Controls feel very fluid and solid. I had one problem with getting stuck on a couch, but other than that the controls were very responsive in all directions.

Armor abilities are cool. Cloak is great. You have to remember to turn it off before you shoot as your first shot will completely deplete your energy and cause a blinding burst of light that blocks your vision for a short while. The nanosuit is pretty cool. It's going to take a little bit of time to get used to turning on the armor when you go to shoot someone. I need a third finger!!!

Don't really like the double-tap for grenades, but I guess I can live with it.

It's definitely a great game and I would recommend it to anyone who feels like they need to get away from Black Ops and try something new. It's a CoD/Halo hybrid. The weapons feel like CoD while the time to kill is like Halo. I mean, it's not that hard to kill someone, but it takes longer than it does in Black Ops, but the timing feels just right.

The game has a different dynamic as you have to really plan out your moves with using cloak. I was using cloak alot when going around corners or going down hallways. I also used it when I felt like I was getting close to an enemy and needed that extra second to get my sights up and on target.

Would recommend to anyone and I can honestly say, with my limited time in the game, that it finally feels like I can play a FPS on the PS3!

^^^ good to hear this from you. I played alot of MW2 with you and I am glad you could confirm some things I was wondering about this game. I'll probably be picking this up in the next couple of days.

Maing thing graphically for me is that the textures are better in Crysis 2. They could be a little bland at times in the original game. I do miss the wide expanse of the island setting a bit.

Second, Third, and Fourth impressions:

The game is pretty good. I've been doing well with my games. I think I'm running a 2.7 KDR right now. My best game was 19-7.

I use my cloak a lot and it helps me to sneak around or get out of open areas. It's a little frustrating sometimes when you see someone who is cloaked, then they suddenly move, only to find out they are now behind you and you are dead. Sometimes it happens when you rush after someone.

Other frustrating things is going 1on1, which ends up with a 1on2 and you can't reload fast enough or you run out of ammo quickly. I've had a few times where I killed 1 or 2 people and didn't have any ammo left.

I pretty much will kill someone, cloak, move, reload, look around, uncloak, shoot someone, cloak again. I probably run cloak more than anybody, but that is just my style of play.

Running around and jumping up on top of ledges and buildings is pretty awesome.

The Seph Gunship is awesome. I've gotten it once (7 kill streak) and got 6 kills with it. It's like an attack helicopter, but has the output of a chopper gunner (you can't drive it, but it is very active).

Since grenades/flash bangs are double-tap triangle, nobody really uses grenades. I've used them maybe 3-4 times that's probably more than I can count the amount of times I've seen them used by other people. Just the fact that they are inaccessible make them not used often. Also, as soon as you hit the trigger to throw it, it'll throw it. It's not like CoD where you pull the trigger, aim, then let it go. It's instatriggerthrow so you have to aim before you pull the trigger.

I'm not that familiar with maps, but I do a lot of sneaking around. I use the one perk that lets me know someone is near me. When I see that I just cloak and go looking for them. Usually people will go to high points and ledges to look down on the battlefield.

I don't quite understand the weapon attachments/perks all that much yet. There is a different way to unlock everything and I'm not exactly sure how you do it. All I know is that I kill a bunch of scrubs, get promoted, and at the end of the match I start getting popups telling me everything I unlocked.

I haven't tried out the other weapons yet, other than the Scar. I am looking forward to trying the sniper rifle, but I haven't played enough yet. There are a few maps where the sniper would work well.

If you buy the Limited Edition (the standard price) you get a free code that will automatically make you Lvl 5 and automatically unlock a bunch of things for you. I would put that in right away, as soon as you get the game. I didn't find it until I was already level 3 so I have no idea if I'm slightly behind or not, but it's not a big deal.

The game moves a little slower than CoD. You can't just rush around and expect to kill people. You have to be mindful of your energy as if you run out of energy, you're basically a sitting duck for a few seconds. Try to move cover to cover and give yourself enough time to recharge before your next move.

Don't just sit in one spot. People will come up behind you and take you down before you know it.

I have found a few times that when I shoot someone in the back it's like they don't even flinch. I can't think of a time that I've gotten shot in the back, but sometimes you're dead before you realize what hit you.

Melee is kind of dumb. You can watch an Onlyusemeblade video (not his recent video) where it takes him 2 hits. It doesn't even seem realistic at all. It's like, melee > melee > 2 seconds > guy dies and falls over. That's probably the only thing where it seems like lag really plays a huge part in the game. I'm not sure what the developers were thinking, but melee isn't that satisfying.

I think I've touched on everything I have to say.

If anyone on PS3 gets this and sees me playing, FeltLegend, send me an invite. I would suggest you get to level 10 first. There is a lobby for people who are <lvl10. I think I just hit 9 and maybe playe 8-10 matches.

Played a couple games tonight. I'm almost at lvl 10. Was having trouble getting lobbies on the <10 lobby so I decided to go to the Solo Instant Team Action lobby.

Wow, it's a totally different game. I went like 1-7. Was up against people who were at levels 14-27ish. That made the game really frustrating as I just couldn't seem to get in the flow of the game. It didn't help either that I was playing on a map I've never played on before.

I would see someone, shoot at him, and then be instantly gangbanged by 2 guys from behind. I almost ended up quitting in the middle of the match because it was so frustrating.

Was having trouble coordinating my cloak, and it seemed like cloak was pretty ineffective for the most part because everyone tends to notice you more - probably just from experience. I need to work on using my armor more as I pretty much never do.

I'm kind of worried what the game is going to be like for me after I can't play in the noob lobby anymore.

I am awful at FPS and just get crushed online.

However, this is by far the most enjoyable FPS campaign I've played since... well, Doom2.

Halo and Mass Effect (is that even an FPS?) are pretty good too but I really do like Crysis.

The presentation is just phenomenal.

No. I was directing that at FeltLegend aka SlugFest since he was really the only one who said something about getting the game.

I'm still IUPAllstar.

Did you or are you going to get the game?

Lately I've been getting on around 10pm EST for an hour or so. I hit lvl 10 last night. Level 10 is really where you start unlocking everything, I think. I've still only used the Scar, but I'm getting better at using my cloak. I had a round last night I went 15-4, best in the game, got another Seph Gunship and Orbital Strike, and we still lost. haha

Pro Tip: Once you hit the button to call out your Orbital Strike you can't cancel it. After about 5 seconds it'll automatically trigger itself if you're on the map overview. You also cannot put it directly on the enemy's spawn point as it won't let you go all the way to the edge of the screen (at least on the Lighthouse map).

Ah cool. I couldn't imagine playing this on PC. Although the graphics are probably better, it has to be a nightmare trying to coordinate aiming/firing/decloaking all at once.

Um, how can it be harder on a pc than a console? Tap Q for armour, E for cloak. Mouse to aim and shoot. Keyboard and mouse is much better than a gamepad for FPSs.

I always thought the same thing, until I saw some people that never played on PC, try to navigate a few pc shooters It's a nightmare!

I really all comes down to what you are used to.

( but yeah, mouse ftw )

I sorta wish Microsoft had gone ahead on this project, but it would never have worked: http://www.rahulsood.com/2010/07/con...gainst-pc.html
