If you don't have a thread on the CK2 mod forum, you should create one. People would gobble it up.
I think I would have to ask for a ton of permissions. I'm modding two mods that other people made. I could start is a CK+ sub-mod tho.

Re: Crusader Kings 2

holy crap this game confuses the hell out of me. I see France imploding into like 10 different countries they all want to declare independence. I have a claim on one of their territory so I declare on them I'll never have a chance to take French land again but all of France is still hostile to me because I have declared war on their "nominal liege" wtf why would they not accept my help with open arms ???

Re: Crusader Kings 2

alright. I feel my persistence has paid off. After several tries, and just not getting this game, i started a new one a few days ago and its getting pretty interesting.

started as an independent county in Wales, formed kingdom of Wales, thru marriage got a foothold in Brittany and eventually Kingdom of Brittany. This marriage also got me the duchy of York. Which is creating a very interesting dynamic between myself and England. This really fractured England. We are both at each others throats but don't really want a war, as we are pretty even. So they are trying to expand into scottland, i'm trying to expand into ireland. I also have a pretty strong alliance out in Denmark, and think it may be possible to inherit Poland if i do things correctly. Long term goals are to take the kingdom of ireland, then take kingdom of scottland, then take england and form empire of Brittania. Finally, move onto the Eurpean Mainland and taking on France.

Couple comments and questions.

Inevitably have to compare this to EU3. These are much more different games than they appear at first. I feel like this game requires a lot more planning. With EU3, it was conquer here, then there, then there, then there etc etc.
With CK2, you are still doing this, but just straight up rolling with military isn't as easy, you really need to plan marriages, who you are going to give counties and duchies to long out in advance.
I do feel like there is some stuff that i would just love to be automated. Going thru my vassal list, finding who's unhappy, giving them money, repeat 10-15 times is annoying.
I also wish there was a way to sort thru characters to invite to court better. They need something where instead of just sort by stewardship, you can say, sort by stewardship and willing to come to court, or stewardship and almost willing to come to court. Clicking thru all those people is a pain in the ass.

Questions:
What is the difference between raise realm levies and raise vassal levies? And what are the effects of each?

So I got to the point where I was starting to grand landed titles to people because my demense was too big. No problems, wish i would have planned a bit better, but whatever. So i'm getting to the point I have a ton of duke titles, so i start giving those out. But now I start getting little internal wars. Are these a big deal? should I just raise crown authority or not worry about them?

Re: Crusader Kings 2

Raise crown authority. The problem is those new dukes you created want to expand themselves, so they are forging claims and such on your other vassals and taking their lands, which then gives them additional territory. Normally not a huge problem, except when they get pissed off at you and revolt they are now a much bigger pain in the ass, as instead of having say 1 province which you can quickly occupy, they have 3+, with decent sized armies. If they decide to revolt when all of your forces are fighting a war elsewhere it can really mess you up.

CK2 is actually a role-playing game disguised as a conquer-the-world type game.

Re: Crusader Kings 2

About 50 hours in, this game seems pretty broken atm atleast if you are trying to play Brittany. My original duke's son had a really glorious reign and became a king a lil ways before he died at the ripe age of 70ish. had a 29 year old heir that became ill and died leaving me a 3 year old king who opened the floodgates to a rebellion by his uncle backed by a dutchess who held 2 of my counties. Everyone and their mother hates me so I have barely any levies and have to hire mercs to keep my kingdom in tact.

Right as this is happening some small French duke declares on me w/ a fabricated claim, on Rennes then the British try to take back cornwall which I took from them when they were having huge civil wars. I ended up going broke trying to fight off these guys and just when I'm about to give up , I find that I inherited 900 gold lol (wish it told me who died I think it was my grandmother but not sure). I betrothed my 13 year old king to a 13 year old princess of Scotland and realized all I had to do was keep Cornwall from falling (Brittany is now completely in enemy hands but I was just gonna wait it out till I get married and have Scotland back me- the penalty to the attackers for keeping cornwall was like 60% by this time so even though I was getting stomped the war score was still at 0 or close to it.) Scotland dishonors the alliance, I am forced to hire more mercs and finally against all odds I lived through the craziest boy-king adventure ever. I had 24 diplomacy and that's about it, atleast I had a queen with stats that compliment my lack thereof. Woot, time for a golden age, and all is looking brighter than ever for the new kingdom of Brittany.
