Re: Counter Strike: Global Offensive
@Jolly2702 - I guess that can be a problem, but you'll find lots of teams looking to pick up players. A lot of players are coming back to the game (after CS:GO was announced in August) including myself, so most of us are not as good as those who didn't stop playing or those who picked up the game in the last 2 years and kept on playing. Luckily if you have lots of experience with the game it should come back quickly. Don't let stuff like baiting prevent you from enjoying the game. For me, playing a game competitively and with tons of studying and practicing is fun. That's why I was so drawn to the world of online poker. In the end, do whatever you have fun the most whether it be playing pubs or not playing at all.
@ShipItMehr
Unfortunately since the demise of mIRC, the most common way to find scrims is through ESEA. ESEA requires a subscription of $6.95 a month but they provide all the necessary means of playing the game competitively (leagues, scrims, pugs, practice servers etc...). They also have awards for people and teams that do well in non-league play. I believe you may be able to find scrims "off-client", but I have no idea how or where to even begin looking for those types of scrims. I tend to avoid off-client scrims because of cheaters (ESEA anti-cheat software is the best in counter-strike).

Re: Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Thanks solsek....will definitely look into ESEA at some point. Sometimes a friend of mine asks me to organize a scrim, and I have no idea how....I suppose ESEA would be a good choice.
On another note, after watching a WCG match I came upon a video of CS:GO. 3 minutes in, I notice the name "solsek" on the scoreboard. Thanks for the vid! Graphics are kinda cool.

Re: Counter Strike: Global Offensive
I get nostalgic just thinking about the good old days of CS 1.6
Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, etc., just don't do it for me like CS 1.6 did back in the day

Re: Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Nope, early 2012 is probably out the window. Most optimistic at this point is early summer.
