I'm not convinced people aren't cheating. Organizers don't seem to really take this **** seriously. There may be a reason teams like SK and VP are so good "on lan". Obviously two different issues, but teams need to be sequestered in soundproof booths with 1 way mirrors.
It wouldn't be popular, but in addition to that they should probably take an approach similar to tennis. The crowd can do whatever they want during freeze time, but need to STFU during the round.
I'm guessing a large part of being "good on lan" is making use of inadvertent crowd noises(in 1v1s for example) and then flat out cheating via signals. To VP and SKs credit they obviously do better in environments where its hard to communicate with your teammates and that could explain it, but I don't believe for a second no one is getting signaled from the crowd.

Most sportsbook have esports now. If you are outside the US you have tons of options. In the US nitrogen, ACR, and Bovada all have CSGO. The games they list can be pretty sporadic though.
