Anybody know or remember what this badge/icon was/is for?

I was playing a round of Demolition and at the end it popped up saying something about Promoted to Bronze, I think. I can't remember exactly as I didn't really focus in on it too much.

The badge is under my name in the main menu, but I can't find anything about exactly what it is from.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found it. It is related to how many achievements you earn. In fact, that icon that I have is actually for the "Team Tactics" achievements, which I don't have nearly enough to be Bronze. However, for the Arms Race/Demolition achievements I am at Bronze, but the badge is a pistol.

So it's showing the wrong badge. Possibly a bug or probably nothing to be concerned with?

I would highly recommend using the settings solsek posted with the muse accel and refresh rate it makes a world of difference. It felt like the hitboxes and recoil where way off until I used them. I use to play professionally... coL.tr1p for you old schoolers anyways I felt like I should give some input on my few days of playing. The recoil spraying seems to be off a bit you don't have that "wiggle" of the mouse feeling after the 10th bullet feel. It feels like the pull has change quite a bit which is fine im sure people will adjust and get use to it. I like how the awp isn't as powerful it really slowed the game down in previous versions. The sound in go feels like source which makes it more noob friendly but also speeds the game up on the competitive side so not that big of an issue. De train is an awful map for pubbing and scrims you can't see anything and there's no flow to it.

Do I think cs go will blow up and get a lot of big prize money events? It's tough to call but the formula I have always said with cs is to give the game away and your spectators would increase ten fold and so will sponsors. The game will only be $15 so it will be interesting to see. The main issue will be game play on the competitive side and how spectator friendly it will be. It's hard to recreate a masterpiece like 1.6. You have to have people knowing what's going on to appreciate a good move or shot and like any sport people understand a good catch because they have experienced trying to do it themselves. There were many positive things valve did this time around compared to previous times where they ignored the competive side completely. 95% of people hated every update to cs the first few days playing it but it gave us 1.6.

lol is that really trip? I heard something about you getting into online poker back in the CGS days or whatever. Nice to see some older people coming back into CS. My old team (keyboard smashers) used to scrim a lot against complexity when you guys were starting up in source. I ended up stopping CS for college and poker and they went on to win cal-i and cevo-p a few seasons haha. I think that's after CGS died though

You playing on ESEA at all?

Cool, sounds like fun. Definitely some work needs to be done on GO so there it might not be worth it to invest hundreds of hours scrimming and practicing when they can easily change fundamental game mechanics with just a single update.

Says that the platform release is pushed to Wednesday although this is the only source I have been able to find...

I feel like the defuse sound is very low. The spray feels very different to me, but I played 99% 1.6 and older so I wouldn't know how it was in source.

Yeah from the little I've played I've noticed that about the defuse which there's not reason not to make it louder...I'm sure an update will fix that. The spray does feel different but i feel like I can adjust to it like I did from 1.6 to source. I think we can all admit that you can't copy the feel of 1.6 but they gave us a version that is workable... It could be way worse. I hated source for months but eventually I didn't hate it.

I would like them to reduce the punch sound when you die. It can be startling sometimes.

I remember the whining when 1.5/1.6 came out. I agree with you, I think this is a very good first stab at recreating CS.

Edit: I definitely watched your demos back in the day.

Haha yeah the defuse sound was super quite. First week of ESEA matches you just threw a smoke or decoy and defused the bomb. The other team couldn't hear it.

I hope they fix the bug where you can't select a team to join. Happened 2 times now playing Arms Race.

So annoying.

The variance involved in close combat seems insane. Ive fired full rounds at what I would call perfect aim and the guy lives, then spray and pray another time and he dies.

Any idea why I keep getting vote kicked? Im not THAT bad.

Concur, I could swear I drilled someone with 10 rounds on target, die and show 2 hit.

You're probably getting votekicked by groups of people for their friends and/or your KD ratio sucks really really badly. 2-8 or higher is where I'd probably start being tempted to votekick someone for being bad.

Matchmaking system.
Some new guns.

It's also inexpensive.

Why do people keep buying the new cod games?

I don't get it.

The maps look the same, the mechanics look the same as 1.6, game plays the same as 1.6. I lol'd hard at dust2. Wtf? I've played that map probably 10k times in 2006. Have they no shame in releasing this and asking for money?
