I was getting hyped on Reddit when I read "Major update", but lol @ this. Seems like Valve just wants to squeeze even more money out of kids.

Hit 150 wins today, and ranked up to MG. Started at Silver 2 a year ago with no previous counterstrike experience. Pretty happy with that tbh.

Hit 1000 wins last week, was global but since returned to supreme(cause im the werst global in existence). Was Silver 1 almost 3 years ago.

I play pretty much only "Cobble". I can be persuaded to play other maps but id feel like I was letting the team down by not knowing callouts or such.

Don't really care about ranking up or down atm.

Really need an off season. Lots of teams need time to figure **** out and/or swap players.

Also a lot to do with no seeding system. SK and dignitas are arguably the 2 strongest teams at the moment.

Personally I'm always skeptical when SK under performs. I don't necessarily believe in all the HLTV aimlock BS, but I'm almost 100% sure SK/Immortals were doing something fishy when Immortals premiered and beat every NA team in a single night.

Whole thing is just odd. SK was good but then all of a sudden both Brazilian teams were much much better.

If any pros are cheating, it's definitely SK.

That said, they're prolly not.

there are probably always going to be sketchy small edges gained on things like paying attention to crowd reactions but the brazilians are just the best at sandbox grinding. load up a simulator for taking A on mirage with smokes and practice that for hours. load up simulators on 2 vs 3 retakes. get coaching from fallen on all the spots to check and in what order for takes and retakes at ever corner. that's gonna be a lot better than just mindlessly grinding code S.

SK is 25-3 on train (!)

that doesnt strike me as sketchy, that says they have that map solved and are way ahead of the game.

Both teams got much better around the same time.

Either some ghosting was going on or they cheat.

They aren't VP. This isn't the old Kabum team. They have talent to match g2 and old fnatic.

Their team play was always strong and obviously improved, but that's not what made them into a worldbeater.

Also it's highly unlikely no pros cheat online. It's possible no one cheats at lans, but even there I'd be surprised if the number was 0 times over recent years.

Why the **** aren't all the teams doing that non stop? These are million dollar tournaments.

****ing practice pistols sometime too. I saw a pro interviewed who said they never practiced them outside of scrims. Wtf.

I see so many fundamental mistakes by pro teams in every single match. I'm far from a pro, but the amount of times I see VP, C9, whatever, crash onto a site without clearing super common angles blows my mind.

There are some incredibly smart players in the pro scene (get_right, olof, etc)... but most of them get there just by being very, very good fraggers. Being told you're the best over and over as a 21 year old, as you get signed to more and more money, doesn't usually lead to practicing fundamentals.

As much as I think SK looks fishy at times, it's hard to argue that they don't play better fundamental CS than almost every other team out there, and it's because they actually practice it.

I think a lot of them just can't be bothered doing anything but literally mass grind FPL or scrims and can't face doing sandbox stuff, aim practice regularly or even all team strats and set ups. I bet you the amount of that that goes on in the pro scene, outside windows maybe 3 weeks before majors would be shockingly minimal for all but a few teams. So much scope for one dedicated team to go really far with good direction/coaching /practicing with literally zero superstar players imo.

I think it just speaks to the youth/immaturity of most pros, particularly in NA. It seems like most pros just legitimately do nothing but bitch about the game and **** around.

I enjoy watching Shroud's stream just because he does so much nutty stuff in a short period, and in general is amusing... but he's such a mediocre pro with such amazing mechanics. He really just doesn't try to get better at the actual game.

also another thing re: SK's success

they have Immortals as practice partners, you'd assume? So it's a lot easier to grind sandboxes when you have those guys as your practice squad. I don't think other teams are as willing to sandbox against each other for practice. at least not in the league of the brazilians when those guys are putting in 60-80 hours a week easily.

really this is no different from poker where everyone succeeds on talent alone until someone comes along and grinds pokertracker/pokersnowie/simulators/software and just goes way past everyone. i'd assume that sgares was one of the first people to get really deep in this with his counter strats, but fallen making a culture out of it for everyone involved makes their exponential rise fairly standard imo.

all you have to do is look at Fallen's academy videos (they are in portuguese) to really understand the edge his teams are getting.
