COD black ops. Still having issues with my aim

I posted here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/75...20/?highlight= sometime ago for advice on how to aim. Most of the suggestions helped very much. I did something else. I was having trouble seeing the aim marks AND the game at the same time. I took some red yarn and made my own marks on the TV. It seemed to train my eyes to see both. I am an old dog trying to learn new tricks.

I am up to playing with the bots and online, not well, but with much improvement. My aim still sucks, when I see a target I sort of freeze first then start shooting wildly and then settle down and get a couple of shots on target. I also freeze when I should be knifing someone up close but I try to shoot first and well you know the story, I get to see yet another kill cam of myself.

Against bots and live players I get in shots, I see them being hit and thrown back but yet they seem to be able to kill me before I kill them (I am not seeing the second chanse thing which sucks). So the kill cam shows me putting lead into them and them putting lead into me and me dying. Against the bots I have an M 60 which is usually a kill with one shot. Against live players I have more of a toy gun and suffer the above fate most times. I know that most of this is the way higher skill sets the live players have but sometimes I do everything right and I end up on the ground. ???? Any thoughts?

Also: villain runs across my field of vision unaware of me till I shoot and miss, villain then flanks me while I wait for him to come around the corner he hid behind, I die in most of these or he stays hidden and I enter area gun blazing and he kills me because, he did not flank and/or I knew I was running out of time if he was flanking me so I entered the danger area. Is this something that will resolve its self with time or do I need to be thinking about certain things to reduce this. Thanks

Sit really close to the screen and play leaning forward. Gun battles in COD are measured in fractions of seconds so you need to be very focused. A little adderall or large dose of caffeine has never hurt my game either.

I don't have enough points yet to buy lawn darts yet but now I am looking. I am thinking a croquet mallet as my primary and the lawn darts as my secondary.

Is there a serious answer out there?

start firing before you hold the aim button. if you're crosshairs are near your target, auto-aim will assist you by bringing your first few hipfire shots online, causing your aim-down-sights shots to be closer to, or on target.

play more

buy mw3

you don't need to aim in cod. Hell, you're even playing on console, it comes with aim assist.

Isn't there a cod containment forum for this stuff?

Buy Modern Warfare 2, use an assault rifle, attach a grenade launcher, switch to the grenade launcher as soon as you spawn. and switch to the One Man Army and Danger Close perks as soon as you unlock them.

The real answer is this stuff will start to resolve itself as you get more experience and become comfortable with the controller and game.
