Sighhhhhhh. No witch, no prince, no dragon at level 5. Only in arena 3 and everyone has these and higher level units of each type. So fun when my opponent can just derp out and win because they just have better cards.

If you have lvl3 giants then i agree you wont win at 1600 using that deck. Giants was all i requested till they were lvl4 because you need a tank and the only real replacement is giant skeleton.

So what did you use your requests for these last 2 weeks? If you are pushing at the 1600 level without a proper tank then I can see you get frustrated getting beat by people that did request the right cards. Of you didn't have the luck to get giant skeleton to 2 then you need to request giants.

Got to 1470 on my non-pay account using a Giant Wizard Musketeer based push. Other cards are based on the arena lvl.

Just started this game this weekend, and it's pretty addictive. It feels skill intensive right up until I play against people with higher-leveled cards than me, then feels stupid. At least in CoC, I could hit next when I was up against someone with a TH higher than me with max towers. Maybe I over-trophied? I only have 646 though, which sounds low, but I still lose a fair amount, which is way more than I like.

What army would you recommend? I'm only level 3 in arena 2 and I have:
Level 1: Prince, Baby Dragon, Giant, Valkyrie*, Goblin Hut*
Level 2: Mini P.E.K.K.A, Fireball, Musketeer
Level 3: Spear Goblins, Archers, Knight, Goblins*. Bomber*
Level 4: Arrows
The *'ed cards are eligible for upgrades, but I don't want to upgrade any more until I decide what I should play.

BTW, what's the rationale for gemming gold rather than gemming chest timers?

Upgrades get expensive and it doesn't matter if you open chests if you can't afford to upgrade

I haven't used any decks I've seen online. This is just what has worked for me. Surely it could be better, but until I plateau hard gonna keep running it.

Have spent $40 so far tho. F2P is fine and all, i'm just a degen who hates losing when I can buy stuff to improve.

What is the 2p2 clan and is there a spot open? Got tons of stuff to donate that i don't use.

Should be a spot open in "Poker Degens" now, since I just left and uninstalled. Game is so, so flawed. Your reward for doing well is filling up a chest bar you can't open, and moving up to fight people who have cards that you've never seen already at level 3. I was begrudgingly accepting of the digital CCG mechanic, but they pulled every lever there is on the slimy F2P control panel: timer chests, leveled cards, two currencies, imbalanced competition, P2W. Not only is it a game based on grinding, but you have to pay money to get the rewards of your grinding! GTFO!

I think the best strategy seems to be to cycle your low cost cards while holding your answers until you get a feel for his deck, then save your cards to counter his threats. For example, if he's running prince/hog rider + wizard, you probably need something like fireball + tombstone to counter, so you hold them. Balloon + freeze, you want range units and baby dragon and maybe a low cost building to drag the guy away. At that point you just hold your counter, keep playing your other card/two cards as elixir allows, counter his push and then win. Sometimes it's better to take a lot of damage on a tower and hold arrows and try to push rather than using them on some barbarians when you know he's got minion horde/skeleton army in his hand. The times I lose are when they push early and the answer is at the bottom of my deck, or I just get overpowered by much better cards.

If you play defensively and wait for him to make a mistake, like miss a spell or stack all his range units onto the same square, then you can beat guys with cards 1-2 levels higher than you.

I'm level 6 with 1750 trophies or so, using baby dragon level 2 and no other epics.

That was my strategy for a while, but it isn't quite as fun.

$99 gem package purchased ~3 weeks ago.. ~70% burnt through now. I upgrade every card even if I don't use them - which makes me a level 8 and I'll take the extra tower hit points. Given I typically square off against level 7s probably means I am below average skill - but went on a win streak to 1900 trophies. My current deck and stats:



The arrows can be swapped out, but the rest of the deck I depend on. I usually get beat by people with defensive tower strategies but do well against most other decks.

Seems like a lot of my co-workers are playing this game. And it is Thursday. I guess I might re-install.

Has anyone found any good strategy resources? Most of my google searches seems to lead to some very dubious advice. I haven't found anything like a OneHive channel for Clash Royale. At the very least, I would like to see a "counters" chart.

Bah, I still don't have xbow, loons, nor prince. Good thing I just got my lvl 2 dragon card yesterday, else I had no answer to wizard and giant combo.

Game is fun, but it always gets frustrating knowing the other guy just overpowers the crap out of you.

Had a guy used lvl 1 golem, lvl 5 giant, lvl 5 wizard on me. How can anyone without heavy defensive deck stop that?
