Thinly veiled brag:

(wtf, replace asterisks with game informer)

Zero's skills are interesting. Not sure how well the melee stuff will work. They obviously tried and failed to make melee useful with Brick in 1. Zero has a sword which could be cool. But ultimately the problem is: who the hell wants to melee in a game with 8 bazillion guns?

Re: co-op - in 1 there was really no need for teamwork. Get good guns, spread out, use a moderate amount of cover. That's all you usually ever needed. (I'm not complaining, it was still hugely satisfying.) Definitely sounds like they're trying to make it more strategic this time. If the AI is indeed improved, this could be a nice step up in co-op gameplay. But this also means they better fix the voip (on ps3 anyway, where it was terrible. Not sure how it was on pc or xbox).

PhaseLOCK sounds pretty cool. I never liked phaseWALK.

As intriguing as parts of all the other three characters sound, it's going to be hard not to start with Axton(Roland) because I love the turret so much and it sounds even better now.

I had no problem with how the missions worked in 1, but I suppose this doesn't hurt:

SK: Quest eligibility issues have all been fixed. You're eligible for any quest that your friend has. If you join my game, and I’m on the last mission of the game, you can still do it with me.

I loved the phasewalk. At the very least it helped you speed across the huge open areas when fetch questing or whatever. Also was the only reason I was ever able to take down Crawmerax.

I feel like there's a good chance I'll start the game as Zero based on the novelty of it but get pissed part way in and start over

Re: Borderlands 2

There will be some seemingly minor rewards if you play 2 on the same console you played 1 on and still have a save file:

"These perks are specific character heads and outfit skins, which modify the appearance of your character. It is likely that the specific skins and heads you unlock are determined by which class you choose in Borderlands 2; however it is unknown if these perks grant you any actual advantages in the game."

Re: Borderlands 2

So looking forward to this. And I doubt you will get any advantage in game its just for looks. Is there even an actual high profile game where u can buy or somehow else get an advantage?

Re: Borderlands 2

BL1 was the most fun mindless shooting console coop I played the last couple of years. Snapbuy when it comes out.

if you preorder you get:

The Vault Hunter’s Relic – an in-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends

A Golden Key – used to unlock a rare in-game item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in Borderlands 2

The Gearbox Gun Pack – a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora.

IMO thats some cool stuff compared to the usual pre order crap you get...
Guess i ll place my order in time...

And yeah, BL1 was one of the most fun games in the past years and i am sure BL2 will be even better...

Borderlands 2 is rather massive, and it took the guys at strategy guide creators Brady Games over 58 hours to complete during a quick playthrough - Possibly the slowest 'quick' playthrough ever documented.
Speaking with NowGamer, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford explained why it took the team so long to finish Borderlands 2:
"In the first Borderlands, a typical average playthrough would see people finishing the game at between level 30 and 35, and it would take them between 20 to 25 hours, according to our metrics."
"But when the guys who are doing the Borderland 2 strategy guide for Brady Games came to visit us, they planned to spend a week to play the game and get everything they needed out of it to write the guide."
"Their approach was that they were going to start by taking a character and just playing through the game really fast, and then they would play the other characters, do second playthroughs, find hidden stuff and do all of the challenges."
"That very first, quick playthrough took them 58 hours, so they had to extend the time here to more than double, and come back a second time just to see everything."
"Part of why that happened is, when we were playing the first Borderlands, for most of us it became a hobby, just as it did for a lot of our fans. So we really took the idea that Borderlands 2 needed to be a hobby as well."
As a result, Borderlands 2 has become twice the size in terms of scope and content, and features a new Badass Rank System that doesn't have a level cap. You can technically level up your Badass Rank over 10,000 times, which is both awesome and nuts.
