I mean, we all remember Blighttown, I don't think From's programmers are quite whatever the Japanese equivalent of Caltech grads are.

I thought it looked great though. Load times were a little irritating but other than that I have few to no complaints.

I'm curious to hear reports of how SSD affect the loading times. Should be some out soon, haven't checked neogaf today.

Have no time to game right now but played for like 80 minutes today. Got murdered a ton and have no idea what's going on. Hated every minute. You know, standard From.

gonna stream some of this in ~ 20 min once update finishes (http://www.twitch.tv/primordialaa), haven't played since Demon's Souls which I put about 40 hours into and LOVED and never finished cause my Ps3 HD died (pre-cloud storage saves for DS). Got amazing reviews, hoping it's everything I want it to be <3<3<3

Same. Put a little time in. Started getting the hang of things after like 10 deaths. Love it

Anyone have any luck using the beckoning bell to summon others for boss fights? I have not. Assume I'm missing something.

4th boss is a huge huge PITA.

holy !$( lol I just spent sooooooo long and just kept dying over and over to the 2 huge black dog things at the top of the stairs, it's between the 1st checkpoint you get and what I assume is the next one. Made it past once, explored some houses one of which opened a door outside so I assumed it'd be like demons souls a shortcut back if I died from there, NOPE, fell into the sewers, died to some douche thing there, no doors were open, couldnt get past the dogs again. Feeling like an EXTREME failure atm ;p, such suffer. love it

DIE MF DIE.

Man this game is somehow exceeding my ridiculous expectations. I feel like pretty much everything is improved/streamlined from previous Souls without losing the difficulty. Here's the list of the five bosses (one chalice) got down so far

Spoiler:
Cleric
Gascoigne
Blood-Starved Beast
Vicar Amelia
Undead Giant (Chalice - gave me a pretty nice blood gem but was somewhat disappointed with the fight itself. Was by far easiest body fight have had but the dungeon itself was hard)

Anyone stumbled into any other bosses if they're around the same place I am?

Cheese strategy for werewolves

Spoiler:
Get them on you and run back down the stairs. They can't fit through the door. Real cheesy but is a good early game farm spot.

Did get a summon to help beat this boss eventually. Was first time has happened.

Damn this staggered worldwide release on the bright side, indeed there was a UK preload and it's 10gb / 30 already for me with 2 days to go. Also seems the 5gb preload chunk is hard enough to worry about completing without need for concern of the rest of the data lol.

Eurogamer performance analysys: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...mance-analysis making a big deal about frame-pacing issues. I can't see judder on twitch streams, but maybe that smooths it out somehow. I remember how Destiny took a massive leap in smoothness midway through the Beta when the broken frame-pacing was corrected, so even if you don't have any issue with Bloodborne framerate - know that it will get fixed soon with any luck. Should be a relatively easy fix (in my noob mind). It's weird how so many games have had this nasty performance issue this gen, and where applicable across platforms too (CoD: Ghosts, Need for Speed: Rivals, Destiny, Diablo 3: UEE and now Bloodborne and I'm sure I'm missing some). FWIW all were fixed pretty quick. To try and explain in a non-technical manner, the stutter is not the console under performing and dropping frames, it's at a level higher that that where the frames are created ok but not delivered to the display in a consistent timely manner.

They also comment that an SSD will speed loading times by ~25%, which to me suggests there is plenty room for optimization in the code which is hopeful.

Yeah the loading times are my only real complaint. Have seen some weird graphical stuff but nothing that has deterred me from enjoyment of the game in any way and like Dave said assume they'll get some of that smoothed out.

Another dogs spoiler

Spoiler:
there is another way you can go that you don't have to cross the bridge. I haven't killed them yet lol

Is that fat guy after the rifleman a boss? That's about as far as I've got. Also, at what point does it make sense to start over instead of getting lesser returns re-doing everything over and over again... yes I suck.

tapiocachop, add it up.

I am awful so far can't lie. Haven't made it to the 1st boss yet. Off work today though so here we go!

If that's the first fixed chalice dungeon, there are three levels and three bosses in there. I'm just mentioning it in case you didn't realize. I almost left that area after the giant before noticing there was another door on the far side of the room that led to a couple more levels.

How have people's multiplayer experiences been so far? The one time I tried summoning I waited like 5 minutes and nothing happened (but I still lost 1 insight for trying). I just got the bell to help other people and it took about 5 minutes to find someone in Yharnam. Kinda annoying imo.

I've been summoned thee times and summoned someone twice. Waiting time has varied from 30 seconds to a real long time.

One thing that was nicer about the summon signs was that it gave you an idea of volume/traffic around an area so you would know both a.) is it likely that I can summon someone, and b.) is it likely I would be summoned here if I put a sign down. In this game you have no idea.

I found a new boss but I'm not sure if there's anywhere else I can go atm without beating it. From other people's posts it seems like I might be missing something since it seemed like there were two bosses you could get to after defeating the first two?

I'm playing offline now. I guess i'll spoiler tag this but it's about like the first bad guy.

Spoiler:
At the very beginning, coming down from the bonfire thing there's that big dude with the axe walking around if you take a left after killing the first patrol. I decided to repeatedly fight that dude to get better at the game and plus i assumed he was either guarding something awesome or that was a shortcut or something. The guy killed me maybe 10-15 times as the fight is pretty hard with debris around and the "stagger this guy with my pistol" thing failed and got me killed maybe 80% of the time. Anyway, i finally killed the guy and he drops dead an lights up with loot. In the time it takes me to take 3 steps and grab the loot my network connection failed. I had to sit through the lol load screen to log back in offline and it brought me back to the exact same spot with the guy lying dead in front of me...but no loot. And there wasn't really anything behind him. I was pissed and killed him again and all he dropped was a blood vial so either the game ****ed me out of sick one-time loot or that was a giant waste of time.

Offline mode.

You didn't miss anything. The pistol is very useful once you get riposteing down so I would def keep working on that.

Edit: actually I'm using the blunderbuss so not sure if the pistol is as effective.

I did find another place I could go without killing the 3rd boss I found so I'll explore in that direction for a bit I guess.

I'm using pistol/axe, with a lot of 2 hand mode usage since the pistol isn't terribly necessary for most fights against mobs. It seems pretty sporadic whether the pistol winds up being helpful in boss fights at all.
